Fair enough. Second question - I've been trying to save IPs for character unlocks. Should I just stop being cheap and buy a champ pack, and use the IPs on whatever runes I can use?

Entirely upto you, I did, and if they released a tonne of new champs in a new champ pack, I'd prolly buy that too. But tbf. Allot of the champs I have I never really play. But it does make for interesting situations when I'm feeling bored, I can just hit random champion. And just play with whatever I get given.
Buying tier 1 Runes is super cheap. I strongly suggest spending enough IP to fill all the available slots you have at your level. I bought a champion pack and don't regret it at all, but its really up to you. If you buy the CE pack you get 4 free runes with it as well. And they're tier 3 runes you can use at level 1.

Hot. How's the queue?
Also, going to find some dudes and stick with them, I think. Last night when we were playing random champs (and by random I mean yordles) I honestly didn't have as much fun 'cause I was confused as to how to play them.
Then again, it might have been due to jumping in at the deep end with JUNGLE AMUMU. (I have never jungled before. It was horrible.)
Also. Solo top-lane Nasus with early Philo Stone and Heart of Gold, then Boots into Ninja Tabi and Philo Stone into... whatever that thing is that gives Tenacity. And masteries specced for dodge. IT WILL BE DONE.
(Plus Sheen, of course. And then Aegis and Stark.)
I really wish there was a no free week characters game mode. This is such bullshit , leavers feeders morons that fucking focus mordekaiser instead of cait , so instead of my gank getting me a double kill we both die. Seriously how fucking hard is it TO FOCUS , and then after the idiot gets me killed he tries to fight both of them and of course dies as well.
edit - To put in perspective I 1 vs 2 them to one shot each and while he fucking watches. Then after I die he comes in.
I think it's fair to say the community in this game is beginning to turn me off. I barely feel like playing anymore with some of the silly geese I have to deal with. People are either terrible at the game or shit heads. I'm getting bitched at and told I'm being reported for not being on my game and then these people say in /all chat that i need to be reported. I'm not the best player but I'm not so bad that I need to be shit on all the time. Usually I over estimate my own team and initiate when people decide they want to go buy...
When these guys chew me out and tell me I'm getting reported for doing the best I can I tend to shut down and dance in the nexus. Or feed. If you're going to report me I might as well earn it.

If that's a two-on-two situation, then yeah that goose derped it up.
In a teamfight though? Frankly I have trouble sometimes singling out the smaller/slimmer targets (Yordles, Katarina etc) compared to the giant ones (Mundo, Maokai etc) because it's such a clusterfuck.

it was 2 vs 2 pushed all the way up to our tower. It was a 4 vs 5 and we were going to lose anyway but that just made it so much worse.
Tried the cryophoenix today, wasn't digging it. Damage seemed subpar compared to ann's, and there was no teddy. Onward to try out Vayne, who seems nasty. >,>

I don't believe I've seen anyone on these forums with above 1900. (Maybe Legen Dairy?) Nice job Waffle!
In the mean time, I went into a drunken-work-fueled-rage and decided to forgo League of Legends last night. Overall, that seems a good decision regarding the server issues. In the meantime: Thoughts:
Monkey King: It's going to take a mighty amount of constitution not to buy this guy immediately. Looks pretty damn good. I think the only way they could feasibly fuck this one up is if they give him an energy system instead of Mana. With his kit, Energy is just way too powerful, and he'll be OP.
Jungle Changes: Stop Guinsoo, just stop. All these changes are going to do is the following:
- More Jungle Creeps: Hey guys, lets have more PVE in our PVP. Now every newbie will just camp the jungle when they can't handle the lane, and think they're totes badass, only to come out at level 10 and get demolished by the enemy rumble. Forcing your Junglers to roam/gank is not a bad thing. It encourages exciting play. Hell, half of the stealth changes were motivated by the fact that everyone at dreamhack felt that lanes were way too passive. GG, more passive play. Solo queue will still stay just as aggressive, because they're stupid, and tournament play will still stay passive, because they know good junglers will ignore creeps in favor of ganks / taking a tower.
- Red Buff: Yay. Now Jungle Ganking is even more ineffective. This is a direct nerf to Pre-6 Ganking for WW, Lee Sin, Gangplank, and Yi, among others. Not to mention it's makes Red Buff far less useful late game for picking off individual champs.
I repeat it again: Removing the possibility of jungle ganks begins to reduce things to the old meta. Everyone will start the game and basically evaluate whether they can straight up dominate their lane opponents. If not, they'll just passively farm, because there is zero reason to try and instigate a fight. Thereby, more passive gameplay. The jungler introduces the element that despite a bad lane match-up, playing a bit aggressive and a well timed dive can turn a good 2v2 into a jungle 3v2 in your favor.

They know. They just don't care. They are doing this so they can nerf WW and Udyr sustain , which just seems so ass backwards. Why are you taking the interesting things of the game away? Some jungle , some cant. Its just going to make the game more and more the same.
yeah that's what guinsoo is talking about, it's in testing right now apparently
along with jungle changes to make creeps respawn faster, so that junglers aren't forced to gank or invade after they clear in order to keep up
i'm not sure how i feel about either change, the jungle changes seem like they would just encourage passivity since it would be so much more beneficial to just stay in the jungle
I think that the value to your team from successful gank is worth the risk of leaving the jungle. Also, the $$ jungle creeps give is static, it doesn't increase over time. So you may not be behind on levels, but if you don't gank you'll be behind in farm.
I just thought of this, but are there "amount of players/ account statistics" ? I'm kinda curious as to how many players are on at any time. Because apparently that "over 9000" thing isn't a joke?

Riot hasn't released any numbers, but due to the number of people that watched Dreamhack, and general math-rimancy, rumors hazard a guess in the estimated range of 10-6.2 billion players.
In all reality though, most people are of the opinion that LoL has at least 3+ million players at the moment.

If HoN has 30000 players on at the same time, I can believe that LoL has 150k-200k
FAIL: 1 hour queue. Split? Split my balls next time.

More than that - Dreamhack alone had more than 180,000 unique IP hits for their League of Legends stream. It's currently in Guinness for the most watched Stream, ever, and currently LoL is the most watched game, ever, even above Starcraft 2, in online terms. (IE: Ignoring Korean TV that broadcasts SC games on a regular basis)

Having 180000 people watching a stream does not mean you have 180000 people playing at all time.
But still, ok, more than that, I always forget the game is free.
So much has been kept in the dark about DoTA2, I'm really curious about it. Valve hasn't done strategy in a long, long ass time, to the point that they're basically amateurs in the genre. But no more so than Riot was when they started League of Legends.
I've kinda grown fond of the LoL style of art/humor/writing, that I'm not sure I could take DoTA2 entirely serious. I trust Valve to do absolutely bad-ass innovation and game design, I'm just not sure how well it'll hold up.
Part of me wants it to fail, because I don't want to make the switch, having just hit 30 last week. The other part of me wants it to be vastly successful.
I don't know how to feel. All I know is HoN and RoI can eat a bag.
Kay you should skip the EU queue and play with my smurf tonight.

HoN is fun, LoL is fun Dota is fun and Dota 2 will be fun.
All of them cater to their own market, except for Dota2 which will cater to all of them (except MAYBE the free to play crowd).
We'll see!
If dota 2 is free i can play both. I always play like 2 shooters at the same time. No reason i can't moba it up twice etc.
That being said it's going to have to be really good to drag me away from LoL. Also Health quints for my first quins ever, can't be a bad choice right? I mean i like Mundo, annie vlad etc etc they need some health.

Correctus Maximus. You'll want to own them sooner rather than later, and they're a great early game boon for most characters. After that, Armor Pen and Move Speed Quints are your best bets.

Dota 2 will, by necessity, have a mode that is for all intents and purposes LoL.
I guarant-fucking-tee that.
That is kinda what they do: never great, but always okay.
Quints are expensive and if you jump around in champ type as much as I do you'd have some points where you have nothing useful for your quint slots which is a horrible shame. I started with HP quints and now I never use them, but that is because of a lot of quint purchasing over time.
edit: @Priest I would say AP and Move Speed first, those are the main ones I use overall. I recommended AP runes instead of HP for casters like Annie for people and they now swear by it, that extra oomph early game often turns no-kills into kills, where the lost HP isn't that big of a deal because (a) you're baller experienced now right and (b) as a bigger threat you control the enemy better and get harassed less usually.
