Money back for a bad concert experience?

I know I probably don't have many options, but I still want to hear anyone's thought on this.

Yesterday the gf and I attended The Onion Live. Yes, as in the satirical newspaper The Onion. Here's the description from the auditorium's website;
The Onion brings humor and intellect into every live engagement. A typical presentation features two members of the creative staff offering the audience an intimate glimpse inside the writers’ room of America’s Finest News Source. The talented writers and editors walk the audience through the history of the satirical news behemoth, taking them behind the scenes of the most famous headlines, and--provided the proper headset mics--they dance. Topics can range from an overview of the year in news to a harsh analysis of today’s corporate landscape to what new media means for the publishing industry.

Basically, I was under the assumption that it was going to be the writer's talking about the writing process and things like that. What it ended up being was an hour and half slide show presentation where they showed articles from the website. I'm really not trying to exaggerate here. The setup was two of the writers, their mac, and a clicker. They would show an article, read the headline outline, and sometimes make a joke. And sometimes read the entire article. And the worst thing is that ALL the articles they show were stuff from their website. Guess I'm a bigger fan than I thought, because to me most of them were old. They didn't talk of what prompted the article, how they came about it, etc.

So yeah..it was a waste of money. We spent fifty bucks were ticket, so I'm wondering if it's even worth trying to get back at least some of it. And who would I go through? The auditorium itself?

    You could tell them that they are terrible. Though, they probably wouldn't listen.

    You don't have any grounds for a refund just because you didn't like the act.

    If you had walked out of the venue early and demanded a refund without watching the show then you might have stood a chance if you talked to the right person. I've certainly known people get their money back from shows that were misadvertised as suitable for children for example here.

    In this case though you've stayed through the show, watched it all, then several days later decided you want a refund... I don't imagine they're going to give you a second thought. You wouldn't eat a meal at a restaurant then get a refund because you decided you weren't satisfied 2 days later.

    Just like eating out or going to see a film or going to a sporting event, you are inherently taking a risk that you won't enjoy the outcome as much as you would have liked. There's also the risk you'll be pleasantly surprised. Yes, you can read a description or review of a film or a restaurant, but that's hardly the same as actually experiencing it and you can't possibly know before you go. There is always implicitly a risk of being disappointed. You are of course welcome to share with others how bad you found the experience, but you're not owed a refund.
