This is a list of asked and answered questions that have appeared in H/A specifically relating to how to do or find something after the changeover. Please read through this to see if your question has been answered before making a new thread. If it hasn't, feel free to ask in H/A and I'll add it.

Getting rid of drafts?

I'm sure there's an easy, obvious way to clear out old drafts with the new forums, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it.
Also, is there any way to turn off the constant saving of rough drafts? I tend to write a lot of posts then not post them after re-reading the original post and seeing I've completely misinterpreted it.

To get rid of them there's a button at the top of the forum on the left next to your "My Bookmarks" and "My Threads" buttons called "My Drafts". You go to that and then just cancel them with the little "x" on the right like you would a notification. You won't see it while looking at or replying to a thread, though if you if you go to a thread with a saved draft it will be waiting for you automatically.

How to un"dismiss" a floated thread?
ShadowOS wrote:
i dismissed a thread floated by an admin and i would like to revert that action. ive looked high and low but i couldnt see an option to do so. the best ive done was bookmark the thread, but id like to see it back atop the respective forum.

can anyone help with this?

There is no way to undo this at present, to my knowledge, so be very careful what you dismiss and make sure you're completely positive it's something you aren't interested in looking at again. Once the sticky is dismissed it will behave like a normal thread, so if it falls off the second or third page or hasn't seen a new post since 2008, it's pretty much gone. Also be aware that you're still responsible for knowing and adhering to rules in the rules stickies that appear around the various parts of the forum, and "I dismissed that ages ago and can't be expected to remember it" is unlikely to be found an acceptable excuse by staff.

"But I already dismissed it!"

No problem. Send me a PM with the title or nature or whatever you remember about the dismissed thread, and I'll post the link into a sticky in H/A. Don't dismiss that sticky. It's not an ideal solution, but until we get an "Undismiss" function (and I am not saying that will ever happen) this should at least help you get back information you're missing. Once they're posted, or if you haven't lost them yet, you can bookmark the links in your browser if you so desire. Or you can use the H/A sticky, whichever works better.

"Okay, but actually I meant the announcements in the bubbles that appear on the top of the forums, that are posted by admins with things like email addresses."

Well that's trickier. If you've dismissed one of those, PM me and I'll try to find the information or email address you're looking for and get back to you.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn
