Dead Space playing order...?

So I have all the Dead Space games (I think). I have Dead Space 1 and 2, Dead Space Extraction, and the Dead Space game for the iPad. My understanding is that Extraction is a prequel to Dead Space, but came out before Dead Space 2. And that the iPad Dead Space game is like Dead Space 1.5.

So I think the proper order would be:

Dead Space 1
Dead Space Extraction
Dead Space for iPad
Dead Space 2

That's not exactly chronological, but that seems to be the right playing order, right?

Am I missing anything in the series? Should I play them in a different order?

Also I think there was something weird that EA did with the DLC in Dead Space 2...like it was automatically enabled at the start of the game which took away most of the challenge and RPG elements...is that true? Or was it fixed? I'm hazy on the details.

Thanks, Esh. I guess I'm missing Ignition. I don't really care about all the other related media.

The only thing is, is the chronological order really the right way to play it? I don't know anything about the story in Extraction, but sometimes you get more out of a prequel if you play the first published game first. Same goes for other mediums (books and such).

Another example would be Kingdom Hearts. I wouldn't play Birth By Sleep before KH1/KH2.

Apparently in the Steam version of Dead Space 2, there are a bunch of free preorder weapons unlocked in the store that cost you 0 credits to "buy".

Aside from that, I know that there is DLC for DS2 where you play as one of the characters from Dead Space: Extraction, but I don't know if anything in the main game makes reference to Extraction. And I don't know if that DLC is available on PC or not.

I don't know anything about the iPad game, but I think you would get more out of Extraction if you played it after the first game.

Dead Space is a fantastic game, and there is no reason that playing Dead Space 1 before it would impact your decision to play the other two. Extraction plays like a pretty awesome action movie.
