Text-Based Job Advancement Game?

Hey all! Trying to find an old text-based DOS game. I played it in 2002, but downloaded it off some freeware/shareware/whatever site that I haven't been able to find since.

The basic premise (that I remember) is that you chose a job, and tried to get promotions...I don't remember how the promotions came about, but I do remember a few details:

There was an acting career, which included jobs as a gaffer and best boy. It's possible that was actual a separate director career or something. There were also careers for each branch of the military.

Sometimes, a random war would pop up which had some kind of effect...especially for those in the military of course.

The game seemed to be based in England, although I'm not sure now why I thought that. Spelling maybe? Or the military ranks were a bit different?

It could be multi-player...you chose how many players, named each one, etc.

I know that's not much to go off of...but any thoughts? LIke I said, I'm sure it was text-based and played on DOSbox (or something like it). It's NOT Executive Suite, I've played that one plenty of times.

Thanks!

tl;dr Looking for text-based game where you chose a career and sought promotions. NOT Executive Suite.

I don't remember any graphics...it's possible the text might have been in various colors, but I could be making that up. I downloaded it in on one of those free shareware/abandonware/whatever sites, so I'm not sure, but I don't think it was a retail game. I can't say for sure that it wasn't interactive fiction, but I don't think it was.

It kinda sounds like Executive suite but I can't remember if that has an acting option.

You're right, it does sound a bit like Executive Suite...so much so, that I meant to mention that it's not Executive Suite, but I forgot to. ;c) Every time I play that game though, it makes me want to go back and find this game that I'm looking for. ;c)
