Desserts from Berkeley?

So I went out with 4 others from work to see the final Harry Potter movie (IMAX 3D wooo) and we went to dinner first at Hard Rock Cafe, where our/my boss ended up paying for the entire dinner just because.
He's from Berkeley from what I've overheard so far, and would like to make him something (a dessert, perhaps) in gratitude.
Does anyone know of anything that fits the bill? Google searches so far haven't revealed much.
Are you looking for a dish to make yourself that is known to have originated in Berkeley, or are you looking for a place in Berkeley from which you can order a good dessert?
For the former: I am not aware of any famous desserts that started in Berkeley. For the latter: ICI ice cream shop on college ave is so good it'll make you pass out.
Not specific to your question, but it is not entirely uncommon for a manager to buy food for subordinates at a recreational event. While it's never a bad thing to show appreciation for generosity, it probably isn't particularly called for in this event. Still, I approve of sweets at work.
Yeah, I lived in Berkeley for a few years and there's nothing really to make for dessert. I'm sure there are bakeries that make awesome stuff around there, but as far as I'm aware there wasn't a regional/town specific dish. Honestly all the "must eat" places that I can think of aren't known for desserts, except for maybe Chez Panise (sp?), but I never ate there so I can't say for sure (poor student).
Is he really proud of being from Berkeley? Does he have a big Berkeley sticker on his car or something? Because if somebody made me a cake based on my alma mater I would find that kind of awkward.
Some people make their alma mater a huge part of their adult identity and some people don't really think about it much after graduation.
I say just drop the Berkeley aspect and make him a nice dessert with a thank you card. If that feels impersonal, then decorate it with something that commemorates the occasion (something Harry Potter and/or Hard Rock Cafe inspired).
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Sounds like my searches were fairly accurate then, in that there's not really much directly from Berkeley, which is a shame!
Butter Beer looks.. interesting..
Feral makes a good point though - I haven't really been able to find anything, so maybe I'll just make something
Thanks for the input!
