if they remade FFVI like they did for tactics i would be able to die happy
I don't know, unlike Tactics, I think FFVI could benefit from updated graphics. FFT had a very distinct artstyle and that was conveyed in the portraits and sprites. FFVI's artstyle is best described as "pretty good, for the SNES".

but Amano's style still comes through, and a lot of that is always lost in the transition to polygons
this is why I would prefer them to do this hypothetical project with hi-res sprites instead
At some point in the past few years, I realized that I liked CT better.
I still love FF6. I just love CT more.
I've been playing it again this past week, and CT does a great job of being brisk and making you feel like you're progressing throughout everything. Not just in power of your team, but in the story. Moment to moment, things are moving along and you are accomplishing things. I suppose the dynamics of settings and enemies encountered and such helps a ton, but even then, the legit discovery of a calamity, and tracing back to find out a way to prevent it (with a false lead along the way, Magus) is what matters most.

And a comment pointed out why. It's a (brief) metal cover of Illmerica.

I tried so hard to enjoy that game
I could not
he can do no wrong after vagrant story
design-wise, it was cool
I liked the attempt to differentiate between weapons
and if you're going to have real-time combat, gambits are the way to go
the issue I had was that they had to be unlocked, and that they are meant to resolve an issue that shouldn't be there to begin with
namely, that combat was boring
also, your party's efforts were basically irrelevant
I mean you get to the end of the game and the villain goes, "who the fuck are you people?!"
and I'm just
good question, guy

There's an example of as much of Amano's artwork as I'd want to see. I'm actually... not a huge fan of his art.
