RSI I assume

My right (mouse side) wrist has been stiff and cranky for years. Lately, the pain is a bit higher, everything feels a bit stiffer, etc. This morning, though, my fingers feel almost like they're all taped together, and tied down with string, such that they're difficult/painful to move independently or with much range of motion. I'd almost describe it as my hand being locked into a claw shape. I can get them moving a bit, I'm trying to stretch them, gonna take some Ibuprofen, etc. I'm fairly certain this is just a repetitive stress injury, and I'm sure tons of forumers have the same problems. Does anyone have tips for any kind of stretching I could do, or whether it's vital to go see a doctor, etc.?

What is this I don't even.

If you're in pain, you should see a doctor. You want to have a medical record in case you ever need to demand accommodations from your employer.

My boyfriend has really bad RSI (eventually needed to have surgery). At his current job, he was able to get a new desk at the proper height, and a Kinesis Advantage keyboard (I have one too, they're awesome). Any good employer will know it's better to spend a few hundred dollars on a good desk than have you waste 1000s of dollars in productivity and possible ADA violations.

If you're a linux or windows user, http://www.workrave.org/ is great software that will pop up at set intervals and remind you to take a stretch break and show you pictures and videos of stretches and exercises to do. There is a similar program for mac but I don't know what it's called.
