Ebay: Crazy guy wants to dispute a fact that i made no feedback
So this guy wants to make a dispute on ebay because i left no feedback for a transaction we did (he bought an item from me)
"I still need you to leave me feedback so I can leave you positive feedback. You have until august 10th, then I'm going to open a dispute just until you leave me feedback. It shouldn't take this long, I've already paid you over a month ago"
What in the world will be dispute???

He might be crazy but why not just leave him feedback? It takes like 30 seconds.
But aren't most of eBay's policies, like, incredibly tilted towards buyers and against sellers? To the point where they can file disputes with eBay/PayPal that are complete bullshit or outright lies and still get their money back? The way sellers can't leave negative feedback, ever? He probably doesn't even need a legitimate claim, he can still try to screw you over.
I'm kind of of the opinion that as long as they pay on time and don't pull any "item not received/item not as described" shenanigans, the buyer should get his A++++++ or whatever; he held up his end of the bargain.

I think he's talking out his ass, but you really should leave him feedback.
It's true feedback though.
I would never sell to someone who I knew would turn out to be a douche like that, would you want to?

Yeah, my intent was not for you to actually leave feedback like that. I was thinking you'd see it as an example and imagine how he would react.
So /fail on my part.

but changing that to system effectively removed what little value buyer feedback had left. I mean, a seller would never DO anything with buyer feedback unless it was negative, and in that case just prevented them from bidding.
Lots of sellers stopped giving buyer feedback altogether at that point. I'm not sure why he's picking on you or even really cares.
I'm really familiar with eBay. While you're totally in the right about leaving accurate FB, the buyer really has you by the balls in this situation. Your DSR's are waaaaaaay more important than the buyers FB score. While it's annoying to have the buyer demanding FB or else, it's really not that big of a deal. If he did open a dispute based on lack of FB, it would be denied immediately. There's no policy that requires a seller to leave a buyer FB.
BUT. I would just give him positive FB anyway, because then you're more likely to get a positive FB/5 star DSR's in return. This is important, because if your DSR's get too low you'll run into selling restrictions/payment holds. Basically, it's one of those picking which hill you want to die on situations.
I wouldn't kowtow to outrageous internet crazies. You're doing everyone a favor by leaving feedback that points out that the buyer is crazy.
This. Screw that buyer.
While the buyer might be crazy, when a system runs on feedback it's pretty rude not to leave it. He paid immediately and caused no issues at all and waited an entire month for you to take the 5 seconds required to just press a couple buttons. I personally consider leaving accurate feedback as being part of your duty as an ebayer since it can impact both the other person and any future buyer/sellers they have a transaction with.
Does anyone know why they removed negative feedback for buyers out of curiosity? If a guy takes weeks to pay for something with zero contact it seems kind of crazy that you have no way to communicate that to others aside from leaving them positive with a note (which most people won't read).
Pretty sure that change was because some dickbag sellers were blackmailing buyers into leaving them positive feedback by withholding their own, or negging buyers in retaliation when the buyer did nothing wrong.
It may feel good to say, "Nah fuck that guy, he's an ass" but this whole thing could have been defused with a simple email to the effect of "Sorry I was out of town, here's your feedback, have a nice day."
If the guy paid on time and didn't try to scam you, his rudeness or craziness at a perceived slight is kind of beside the point. Your feedback as a seller is there to inform other sellers of whether or not this guy is likely to pay on time or scam them.
But what's done is done. If anybody cares to read the text of that feedback maybe they'll be extra diligent in leaving their own lest they invoke the wrath of random internet crazy #4678214.

This is exactly why.
I really don't see why there is buyer feedback at all. Either you paid or you didn't, simple as that. People who bid and don't pay should have their account deactivated.
This guy seems a little kooky, but it's not like it's difficult to leave feedback. I don't see why he started it off by being antagonistic. Probably some kid.
Another reason he may want feedback is the new way PayPal is handling funds. If he occasionally sells too, if you're under a certain number of feedback scores, PayPal will now withhold payment for up to a month, unless the buyer leaves feedback indicating receipt of the package.
I know this bit me on the ass a few months back when I needed some money, so I sold something, and then had to wait for the package to arrive, and then for the buyer to leave feedback before I could get any of the damn money.

Did he pay you promptly? If so, leave him some positive feedback.
I was on vacation when he recieved the item, so I didnt leave any feedback
But now he is acting like an ass about it, so im kinda curious now on what he would dispute

That feedback is important and so while annoying it's not hard to understand why he isn't going to let it just sit.
Leave him the feedback he deserves based on the transaction and call it a day.
Yes, i just left feedback that was kinda like what you said.
Prepare for negative feedback in return.

It was positive and said something like he paid fast, but wanted feedback or he said he would "dispute"

he will still be pissed because you gave him a barbed review
but they're listening to every word I say
I am VERY sure of something like this happening in the last few years.
Sellers can only leave positive feedback.

I bet that's why the guy was miffed. Because no feedback looks like negative feedback.
