I can't actually watch this because I'm apparently experiencing the same "missing plugin" business someone mentioned in the last thread.

    Wait, the Wii *has* Netflix?

    I had this exact reaction

about 4 months after I bought my mom a roku box for her birthday to watch netflix in the living room.

It's currently sitting right next to the Wii

The end gag was especially good because I have to switch off the HD anyway so my piddly little netbook can watch PATV

I now have a computer in which I do not have to shut off HD and it is magnificent.

I think I will start watching these with the next episode. Just have a clean 15 in a row to watch.

The movie didn't work when I tried it on Chrome, but it worked on my Safari browser.

    Go figure.

I also can't watch Checkpoints anymore because of "Missing Plugin", in Chrome. I tried it in IE 9, as well, which is the only other browser I have installed... no luck there, either.

I love the series, but I'm not going to install a third browser just to watch it, so... has there been any acknowledgement of this problem? I assume they like seeing their viewing numbers go down even less than we like not being able to view.

I had the missing plugin issue once but managed to fix it.

Chrome users who are having problems, try this:
    1. First, make sure Chrome is up-to-date.
    2. Go to about:plugins (enter that in your address bar, forums won't let me link it).
    3. In the upper-right corner click "Details" to expand the entries.
    4. Find the entry for Flash (mine was the first entry).
    5. My entry for Flash had two subentries, one for the version of Flash installed on my system and one for the version that's included with Chrome. You can tell which is which by looking at the location.
    6. Disable one of them and restart Chrome.
    7. Try watching PATV again. If it worked, great!
    8. If that didn't work, go back to about:plugins and re-enable the one you disabled.
    9. Now disable the other one. Restart Chrome and try PATV again.
    10. If neither worked then I don't know what to tell you.

Like I said, I had this issue a few weeks ago and following these steps fixed it. Now, however, both versions of Flash are enabled for me and it's still working. They also look like they are the same version, so maybe before they weren't the same version?

If you follow these steps report back with what worked/didn't work for you. If it worked, post which Flash install (system or Chrome) you disabled as well as the version numbers of both installs and of Chrome. Maybe we can find a common thread.

    I have:
    • Chrome 13.0.782.109 beta-m running on
    • Windows XP SP3 32-bit
    • Chrome's Flash is version 10,3,181,36
    • Windows' Flash is version 10,3,181,26
    • Both are enabled
    • PATV is working correctly for me.

  • agilemaniaagilemania Lyon EstatesRegistered User regular
    Oh also, good show!

  • agilemaniaagilemania Lyon EstatesRegistered User regular
While I was typing that post Chrome updated. It's now version 13.0.782.112 beta-m with Flash of 10,3,183,5. PATV is still working.

the versions of flash chrome lists for me don't match

disabling the windows one did nothing, disabling the chrome one caused patv to work again (but the pages seem to take a really long time to load)

    chrome is up to date
    • Chrome 13.0.782.112m
    • Windows 7 32-bit
    • Chrome's Flash is version 10,3,183,5
    • Windows' Flash is version 10,2,153,1
    • Chrome version disabled.
    • PATV works but seems to load slowly.

additionally, the blams were working fine all along. everything else (checkpoint, gabeart, etc) returned the 'missing plugin' business.

In chrome, if you are having trouble watching the clip due to "Missing Plugin" do the following:

    1. Right click anywhere on the page outside of the video area -> go to "View page source"
    2. Scroll down towards the bottom and find the link to the video. ex: for the most recent one episode "http://blip.tv/play/hPQSgsy6RAA.m4v"
    3. Click link and enjoy

This is what I've had to start doing to watch the clips on the site. It's because of the change in embedding, chrome apparently doesn't like the embed type futuresplash.

getting the missing flash plugin problem here too :(

running Google Chrome, 13.0.782.112, on a Win7 64-bit machine. the Windows version of Flash is up to date. oddly, things work fine in Firefox 3.6.10 (which i haven't updated in a while).

Hey, any of the LRR guys want to comment about what is going on at the Escapist with the content providers?

4 Gauge I've got them stretched out, but not too much.

    Re: Halkun

Regarding the Escapist, no comment for right now (due to obvious business reasons.) Any business between the Escapist and Extra Credits is the business of the Escapist and Extra Credits. We love Extra Credits and the Escapist, and we wish them all the best.
