as much as he embraces technology and musical change - his imac was as prominent as any instrument or performer on stage, piping glorious malian music to go alongside his incredibly skilled band - listening to him hit out a fifteen minute solo on his old piano, working the pedals, the stage now empty and dark, was all you needed to know he's an all-time legend
