The new forums will be named Coin Return (based on the most recent vote)! You can check on the status and timeline of the transition to the new forums here.
The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I was going through the archives when the site was updated to the new version, and uh, there are some problems. Specifically, certain comics have magically disappeared.
Note that these are not all of the comics with the problem, just a sampling. It is all quite random, some will work, others just won't. And series of comics, like the Hawk and the Hair, are all broken together. All these comics are around late 2006 and early 2007 cause well, that's where I was when I noticed it and where I am now in the achive.
A direct image link shows... nothing. I think I know why. If you look at the URLs, they have a different structure.
It would appear some comic images were not updated to the new naming convention and location.

I'm also seeing a weird issue with the main page in IE 8 (IE 7 - aka IE 8's compatibility mode - seems to work fine). Wasn't sure where to post, but figured this topic was similar enough to not warrant starting a new one.
Spoiler'd for semi-large image:
For some reason the title header is showing twice and the CSS is broken (appears to be using a different font). This doesn't happen on Tycho's post, just Gabe's. And going back the last few days, I don't see this issue. So it's weird. Looking at the source, it could be Tycho's post - it looks like he has two <span> tags in there but only one closing tag.
Since we're talking about the archives. I see the footer bar (with the links to things like shirts, Blaminations, Precipace, etc) appears directly over the comic in IE7 (the only browser they let me use at work)
I'm off to pirate more music, steal software, and knock down little old ladies, then later I'm going to cover my self in Yak's blood, and lay in a pentagram, while reading some Marxist literature and praying to a heathen god.
It's still not working correctly. All those comics (and many more) are still bad links. Also pretty much any image ever posted in G&T's blog article for the comics are broken links. Sure hope these get looked at soon. It ruins the archive.
I just went through and (theoretically) fixed all the missing comics. If you see any that I missed, or any that seem smaller than they should be, let me know. Thanks!
