Oh wow, that girl is super hot. I'm gonna IMDB her and see...oh fuck, thats Timmy Turner.

Ugh, well at least I can throw on this episode of Californication. That actress is hot too. And funny. I've seen her in stuff too, lemmie just google here and...oh fuck thats Bobby Hill.

No. It's more of a Twilight Sparkle voice.

    Also a Harley Quinn voice

I get the feeling that, like with Bayonetta and Vanquish, I'd beat this game once or twice and be done with it. I mean, I fucking loved Bayonetta. A lot. But I don't think I ever finished a third full playthrough.

    ...Is this bad?

How many playthroughs do you expect out of your average game?

Five or six, depending on the length. Of course, your milelage may vary, natch. But I don't even remember how many times I played KotOR.

    You didn't get Sai Fung?

    D:

(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.

    What?

Yes, they're all Tara Strong, but that voice is pure Twilight Sparkle, with a dash of Rikku thrown in

Harley Quinn is one of her better voice jobs in that it was really difficult to tell it was her

I don't think Suda51 games ever sell well. Shadows of the Damned did alright if I remember but no where near blockbuster level. His titles tend to fall into Cult Classic levels of success. But who knows..maybe word of mouth if this game is good will make this a zany exception.

I believe Shadows of the Damned completely tanked. I didn't like the game but I still hope I'm wrong.

shadows of the damned sold 24,000 copies the month it launched. it was a total flop. i remember seeing a lot of headlines at the time about it and child of eden both selling like shit.

nothing about this particular game interests me, and lot of it actively turns me off. i dunno, maybe something will change my mind but eh.

Joystiq basically had quite a few posts going "we dont care if this is crossing the line for shilling, this game sold 24,000 copies, and this is why we can't have nice things as gamers. go buy the fucking game"

    To be fair:

    1) It had pretty much no marketing whatsoever

    2) The box art makes it look like random terrible crap

    3) It has one of the most generic-ass names I've ever heard

    4) Gamers may actually be voting with their wallet and deciding that a game full of dick jokes and constant references to boners is not a "nice thing."

I still haven't played it yet, but the only reason I bought it for $15 was because it had the Suda 51 name attached. Free of that, if you told me that a game was basically a poor man's Resident Evil 4 with a lot of boner jokes, I'd pass.

That's pretty much why I bought it. At $40, I think.

Well, boner jokes and Suda. And Suda is why I'll buy Lollipop Chainsaw, but not at $60.

Oh, this comes out on Tuesday? Nice.

Gameplay doesnt look too bad, hopefully its just the person playing not utilising their full arsenal of moves. Looked like the same combo over and over.

Of course. She learned pole dancing. Yikes.

Really, I think they might have been better off using the voice and likeness of the actress in the promo videos. It would have made it more lifelike.

Edit: Ah. She is actually cos-player Jessica Nigri. Still, it would have been a great opportunity for her.

I'm still hemming and hawing over actually buying this. It seems humorous and I liked Shadows of the Damned a bunch, but I'm just not sure this game will have much replay to it.

Funny note: the gameplay video had an anti-Obama ad on it for me. Zombies taking over and our only hope is a cheerleader? Thanks, Obama.

So I was actually looking forward to this game.

but the gameplay looks completely and utterly not-fun.

I had stayed away from gameplay footage for awhile, but now that I sit down and watch the combat it looks incredibly stilted. None of the animations really flow well together and the enemies just seem like motionless punching bags. Maybe I've been spoiled by other beat em ups like DMC and Bayonetta though.

I really hope I'm proven wrong, I guess? Because everything else about the game still looks stupidly fun.

Sterling successfully trolls the internet once again! With a length of only 6ish hours and replaying for "leader boards" I think this is a definite pass from me from what I have seen of the gameplay.

In Toronto they had George Romero and Jessica Nigri who has done all the recent portrayals of the games star when the game went on sale, there was a huge line up according to reports. Was anyone here there?

    More reviews:
    Famitsu: 9/9/9/9
    Destructoid: 9/10
    Geekrevolt: 9/10
    GamingUnwrapped: 9.5/10

    Frictionless Insight: 3/5

I don't know, that review has certainly settled my qualms. The game looks like it'll be fun even if it's not one that was "made for me". Remind me why Sterling is the Antichrist's doodie tho?

As much as I hate Sterling, almost every comment in that article came across as obvious sarcasm. Until he gets to his silly rants about feminism. He is clearly being an ignorant douche there. But for a lot of those lines, it appears that they kind of fly over the lady's head and she takes them all super literally.

The "obvious sarcasm" excuse breaks down when it's repeated ad nauseum. And even with it, none of that came across as sarcasm to me; definitely not so when combined with his other comments on feminism.

Yeah, an hour in and I do not see how it got those reviews. The combat is clunky and alot of it feels unfinished. There are some really good suda51'ish touches here and there so far. I am hoping maybe the combos will make combat better? I feel like a game snob, I love all of suda51's stuff but this is eh so far.

edit: I didn't get the achievement for the skirt,I wonder if its timed to do it right when they say not to. The animation if you try is a great touch though. Is there a way to pick up the phone? I can't figure that out and I figure I should listen to the calls...

Actually, once you start buying combos, combat gets way way better. Its still a bit clunky, but im liking it alot more now. You cant answer the phone, but when you see the icon, its letting you know that theres a new message to listen to in the collectables menu.

The tidbits of info on the named zombies are amusing/disturbing. Most of the humor in thus game is kind of Adult Swimish. That sits very well with me, and im very pleased with my purchase. Just wish amazon would email me my costume code already...

Well now that more reviews are coming the game isn't doing so well now. Quarter to Three gave the game 1/5 stars (which notably lowers its metacritic score) and their review was mostly blunt and to the point. Games Radar gives the game a much better review but a relatively crappy score in the end - he liked the writing/script though. Joystiq also put up their review sometime recently, making the opposite comment about the script pretty much but if there is a common thread to these reviews: All mention the short length and generally dull feeling combat. There are some more reviews now as well, mostly middling around the 70ish range with a 65 from Official Xbox Magazine.

I'll be interested to see what IGN, Gamespot, Giantbomb and others will give the game. I don't see it doing too well once it gets to the bigger publications.

You know what this game's like?

Its like a mostly competant beat em' up merged with the absurdity of Saint's Row 3. If i were to rate it on a 10 point scale, i'd give it a solid 7.

I'm really digging it. The gameplay is far from perfect but the game's pretty funny, some of the one liners got me laughing out loud.
    Zombie baseball is awful though.

Im glad to see some positive reviews, which will hopefully get it some sales, a game like this deserves them and I love seeing creative ideas being rewarded.

    So far-

    The good-
The game is funny as hell.
The visuals are pretty cool, it has a very unique arcade-ish style.
The soundtrack and voice acting is excellent.

    The bad-
The minigames can be a bit cheap and frustrating. Zombie baseball sucks.
Combat isn't Bayonetta. Oh how I wish the combat was Bayonetta quality. It's not awful but it's not amazing, just sort of okay.
It's apparently pretty short. It does have a pretty cool arcade-ish feel where you could have some fun competing for high scores trying to get the biggest multikills but the gameplay might deter that a bit.
    Zombie baseball sucks.

Overall Im really happy with it, to me it's worth it so far just for the laughs I'm getting from it. There's some great one liners.

To be fair, I'm not going to try and sell someone on this game unfairly

So far the combat is pretty damn repetitive, and the whole thing has a weird budget-title feel to it

And maybe it is trying too hard in some spots
