We are terribly sorry for the lack of updates regarding the delay of the game. However, the delay has been out of our hands and the communication with the players are supposed to go through the publisher, due to agreements around announcements etc.
With that said, we are again very sorry for the delay and we expect SEGA to announce more news about the PC version shortly.

Well, hopefully it unlocks later tonight. I'd like to get to play this someday, on my PC.

Says 1 hour for me even though I'm pretty, pretty, prettaeyyy sure it's already the 27th. Was only 12 hours by lunch time yesterday so might have been given one final delay for good luck

You know what this means.
Inferno's days are numbered.
ROLL OUT.

I like playing as Gunnar because his gun is huge. Then when you get powerups his gun gets huger. But then when you use his special HE TURNS INTO THE HUGEST GUN FOR HUGE GUNNING. Also, his name is Gunnar.
I think this game slashed my IQ by 50 points but whatever, I replaced it with 50 explosions. It's an improvement.
FUCKING WHAT!? I GET TO DRIVE THE MUTHAFUCKING NUKE OUT AT THE END?!
I shudder to think what they make me do in the next mission.
A couple things I picked up
Watchtowers can be driven through
Smaller buildings can also be driven through
'Y' activates the map overlay
'B' lets you switch out the secondary weapon when you come across a different one. Easy to miss

Just another tip from someone who has played the 360 version: it's not possible to get the Mega Kill Combo in any mode other than the hardest difficulty level.
finally! the only thing that I will have had on my steam account for longer without actually being able to play it will be Batman. And I'm going to blow up everything in my cars until batman shows up to stop me.
I'm just going to repost my previous sentiment and start installing.
This game is sort of hard if you're not used to playing twinstick shooters, even on the regular difficulty.
Nice looking, though, and the explosions are pretty satisfying, especially if you pick the car with the airstrike ability. The comic-style cutscenes are also nicely done, even the voice acting isn't bad in a cartoony sort of way. Posting some screens of the cutscenes on my Steam account now...there's no time to take screens during actual gameplay unless you have an extra controller button to bind "take screenshot" to. :P But the preview screens in the OP are not unrepresentative of what occurs.

End of 5th mission.
You can blow the back covers off tanks and expose a weak point that does like double damage, which is super useful. I love the rail gun as secondary -- charged up, it seems to do crazy damage, probably because of its crit chance. I briefly tried Roxy since I thought airstrikes would be pretty sweet, and I'm sure they are when leveled, but Diz's faster-recharged EMP shutdown is pretty great, especially with the cooldown boosts (or at least the big one). Also have the heavy damage one on (along with the stun duration++), but I haven't been paying attention to see if its worth it.
My 360 controller miraculously started working again today after acting goofy for a long time, which I consider a sign.
Hurray to this game finally being released. Boo to the thing not fucking working. I checked the Steam forum and it seems like everyone who's having a problem is on 64-bit Windows. Any of you folks able to play it on such?

I'm playing it fine on Win7/64.
However, I will say this is easily the laziest windows port I have EVER seen. If you don't have a controller hooked up to your pc, don't buy this. At all. Seriously.
Its a dual core issue o think. Redlance has issues with it too and according to him, the steam forums are full of people with dual cores having problems with the game not launching.

I can't agree with the laziest statement. The game warns you straight up that playing with a controller is recommended, for one thing. It is a twin stick shooter, after all, it's going to help to have two sticks to control it. Second, there is actually a decent, if not exactly impressive, array of settings and options. There are many Windows ports of console games that almost literally give you a slider to set the resolution and that's it.
I tried KBAM at first and it was alright but a little awkward. Finding out my controller has revived itself and decided to work again was nice because it controls much better with a pad.

It has a mess of video options. It has no way I've found to rebind a single key. It's trying to make you do diagonal stunts via WASD as up down left right. Essentially, it's a twin stick shooter on PC with one stick. And the sad thing is: it would have controlled fine with forward/back/left/right instead.
But let's just go with the sign of "lazy assed port":
Renegade Ops: Press Start!
edit: And I'd have had no issues with lazy assed port if the first screenshot in the store page was "play this with a controller, dumbass", not open the box and a little note saying "oh yeah, about the system requirements: controller!"
But let's just go with the sign of "lazy assed port":
Renegade Ops: Press Start!
The PC version of Batman Arkham Asylum has a "Press Start" screen too. Guess it's just a "lazy assed port!"
FYI, pretty much all titles released for the XBox have one of those screens because Microsoft used to require it for primary controller detection.
Can you click menus in Batman: AA? Because that's sign two of "did you bother putting any form of mouse recognition in your goddamned pc port". See DX:HR for "not a lazy port"
Anyways, for those who are interested, apparently in their amazing config menu there IS a way to change the control scheme to forward/reverse/left/right. But apparently it's named something to do with nothing, about tanks.
edit: for anyone having issues running this with a black screen: do you have a second monitor enabled? It seems to have issues with that, which is somewhat common.

So you're abandoning the argument that a "Press Start" screen automatically signifies a bad console port after you saw how silly it was? 'K.
I agree that non-clickable menus are a black mark against the game. However, I've also played PC versions of AAA (or at least AA) titles, priced accordingly, from major publishers, that also lacked them, and had far fewer PC-specific options than Renegade Ops does. So I'm not going to rip an arcade title from a relatively small developer which I payed $15 for a new one over something like this. They clearly made an effort on the port, a rather uneven one I grant, but I've seen much worse from developers which should do much better.
I went into this expecting Renegade Ops to basically be a quickie port and expecting the 360 pad to be the preferred control scheme and overall the game so far has met or somewhat exceeded my expectations.

Either way I'll be back out to work for a week by then so that's annoying
Sounds like Sega's to blame? It's rather vague.

Bad ass.
So I guess the delay for optimization was worth it, I take it?

I picked her too and the crazy explosions when activating the air strike skill are great. Especially if you manage to nail a moving target.

This fixed most of the problems for my friends and I, although it still randomly crashes sometimes.
Apparently the game isn't compatible with dual-or-tri core processors at all, but the file that poster created forces the game to run anyway.

I'm sorry, this is a twin stick shooter. The ease of use issue should be obvious from the get go.
Anywho, installing, because I obviously own a controller seeing as having proper peripherals for my gaming rigs of choice is an obvious thing to do.
