Moving to Auburn, WA

Hello all,

Right now I'm living near the University of Washington, but pretty soon my roommate is going to move out so I must find a new place of residence. My current job is on Auburn Way North, and the 40-50 minute commute from Seattle to Auburn is killing me. Right now I'm looking for a place as close to my work as possible, studio/single, and I don't care much for nearby restaurants or attractions. I am going to be deploying overseas soon so 6-9 month contracts would be preferred, but isn't exactly necessary. I would prefer not having roommates or renting a room from a family, as I enjoy my privacy and am sort of a hermit. $400-$600 would be my ideal price range.

I'm not too worried about how dangerous the area might be, but the less sketchy the better. I'm going to be checking out two apartments this week, but it's been slow going for me and if anyone has any good websites besides craigslist to look for apartments, it would be greatly appreciated.

When do you need to move?

For that low of rent you're not going to have many options. By ruling out renting a room or mother-in-law apartment, you're really restricting yourself. There's a good chance you'll have to deal with a shady landlord also, so good chance they'll try and keep your deposit when you move out.
