I would totally be all over Darksiders II for $20 ... if it weren't for the fact that by the time I get a PC that can run it, the regular price will be $9.99.
Anyone already mention that Best Buy and Target are supposed to be price matching Amazon, at least until Christmas? Not a specific deal, per se, but an opportunity to combine the savings of online shopping with the instant gratification of B&M stores.
Price matching Amazon at Best Buy excludes "entertainment content" for what Its worth, so games and blu-rays are out.

I want Darksiders 2, but I'm thinking of picking it up on the WiiU, just like I was debating Arkham City before you guys convinced me otherwise. Any reason I should wait for the WiiU version of Darksiders 2?

Since, when I've been pricematching games and movies at Best Buy for years? I just price-matched a movie the other day.
Any Best Buy that has been previously price-matching Amazon has been a purely YMMV thing, some store managers agree to it and others don't. This new policy going into effect this holiday season is at ALL stores and the restrictions apply.

Because you need a new Zelda game for the launch of your new Nintendo console.
Great that brick and mortar stores are trying to price match Amazon, but I don't shop there enough to get the credits I already have with Amazon from them being way cheaper throughout the year.

In a way, too little too late.
Really. But in this case, no price matching on anything I'd actually buy? With the added bonus of no importing? I shop B&M because they're close. I'll wait to get what they don't have from an online shop.
To be honest, I'd still go with Amazon over Best Buy or Target, even if the prices are the same. Now that Amazon is charging me sales tax, the prices are equal; all things equal, I'd rather wait two days than have another Best Buy or Target experience (not to mention the cost of gas and the time spent). Honestly, price matching just isn't enough to get me into a store.

This is the second time I've seen this; when did Amazon start charging sales tax? Is it for everyone or just a few states? Because they aren't charging me.
The big thing is that Amazon was fighting back for a long time by refusing to put distribution centers in states that would use that to make them charge sales tax. They've given that up in order to improve their distribution network.
Being in NY, I've been paying sales tax on Amazon purchases for years because they have a place downstate.
I think everything else being equal, Best Buy wins by a hair, since they have Reward Zone points. But that is so small that any better deal beats it. But it does drive CAG forumers to try and pricematch everything there.

Darksiders 2 Wii U is just going to have the preorder DLC as part of the base game (so still the post release DLC to buy) and you can play the game on the controller. Cool feature, but don't know if that's the type of game I'd want to play on it. Savings sound better to me than that. Especially since the season pass is on sale at GMG right now too, something I can't see happening too much for the Wii U (though I guess we'll see).

It's coming soon to a state near you... check the chart:
Sales tax should be charged on all online purchases. Expect it because that's the way it should be. I mean, you're already reporting those sales free taxes on your tax forms, right? As you are legally required by law to do? So there shouldn't be a difference anyway.

I can't wait to pay tax on digital content. Oh, wait. Yes I can.
Forever.
Eh. Washington residents have paid sales tax on Steam purchases for a very very long time and the world didn't end.
That's why I don't live there. Not really. But it would suck to get tax on it. Some places around here already tax points cards, which, is twenty kinds of stupid.

What? No. No one does that.
While no-one actually does, legally you're supposed to... which is why I feel that yelling at Amazon in this instance is completely misplaced anger, since people are basically complaining that Amazon won't help them commit tax fraud.
Is the law that you're supposed to pay sales tax on online purchases a stupid law? Maybe (you can make reasonable arguments on both sides). But the fact that you think it's a stupid law is a reason to be mad at your state legislature, not at Amazon. Once you have that law as a law on the books, it's ridiculous to expect people to track their purchases and report it on their taxes instead of just have Amazon/et al. collect it automatically. Could you imagine if the normal sales tax worked that way - save your supermarket receipts throughout the year to report your total purchases in April?
To make this a not completely tangential post - the Microsoft store is offering a $25 gift card for pre-ordering Halo 4 (I think there were a bunch of other pre-orders that were $10 + 1600 points). The more interesting thing is that they're also running a "compare Bing & Google" thing, where you do 5 blind side-by-side searches, vote which one you like better, and receive a $25 MS store voucher for your time. Although you can't use the entire thing on pre-orders (it expires on like the 25th of October), you can pay the $10 pre-order down payment on it, making Halo4 $50 with a $25 gift card. (You could also use it to, say, get a free $20 USB drive or something).
(edit) Reynolds is right, this is at the brick & mortar Microsoft stores, not their online store
Not quite Free, but not bad if you missed the $20 code frenzy.
So I bought ME3 and Sims 3 pets during this thing using my normal Origin account. My credit card has a pending charge on it but the games never showed up on my account. my last "purchase" is showing the $20 off game I got over the weekend.

Apparently you have to physically go into one of these stores, not the online store. I did not know these stores existed, until I did some searching to figure out how to get this deal.

I live in MA, and when I first got on PSN I was pissed about this. Then I just changed my address to a fake NH one. No more tax on digital purchase. Problem solved. Didn't want sony to have my address anyways

Also, probably around $49. That's what they tried to give me, anyways.
