So my 360 blew up on me over the summer (turns out trying to finish Dragon Age: Origins during a lightning storm wasn't such a good idea), and I recently purchased a refurbished console from my friendly local Gamestop. I switched over the hard drive, and decide to go ahead and just watch a few shows I have saved on the drive while I unpack my dorm room.
Nothing ends up playing, and instead, I get an error code: 800704cd for some reason. Looking around online isn't giving me any info, and I'm just trying to find a way to solve this problem.
Any info you guys could throw me would be great. Thanks!
Is your console hooked up online? This might be related to the required media update to play certain codecs. You'll either need to get it via Xbox Live, or download the file to a thumb drive. You likely need to re-install the media update for the new console. Try that.
But if all else fails...
Take it back to Gamestop. You should be covered by their warranty for refurbished goods. You'll get a replacement, if nothing else.
