I think it works as kind of a character foil to Indy's suspicious competence for an acadamic.

And it gets him way more screen time than Raiders

    Why am I so dumb.

Why did I watch a scary movie in the dark late at night?

I don't want to go to sleep now, but I'm tired... Good lord I have bad judgment.

Tyrannus, Enrico Morricone has done an insane amount of music scores. He's most famed for his Westerns, but he's done hundreds of others as well.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL-X53ze5O0

This is one of my favorites.

You should go play Amnesia: Dark Descent.

It will sort you right out.
    Don't fucking do this.

Morricone has done so many scores that apparently a bunch of them, like dozens or even a hundred, are lost forever

  • tyrannustyrannus i am not fat Registered User regular
I am going to be playing a SHITLOAD of them the day before I take my REG (Tax & Business Law) part of the CPA exam

Shirley Walker's music for all of those shows was fantastic

There used to be a YT vid of Walker talking the audience through her work developing the Batman theme. I'm not a "music person" but I loved listening to her.

Okay [chat] maybe you can be helpful

Apparently my thesis group is having a group lunch on Thursday, so I need to bring food of some kind

What should I make, with the assumption that I have limited kitchen time and space

get a loaf of crusty bread and some sliced cheese

slice the bread, butter it, put a slice of cheese on top, pop it in the oven for around ten minutes at 350

So I see GOG has Ultima now. Is this a piece of RPG history worth experiencing, or best left to history?

I think I am getting tired of cyberpunk and only want to do post-cyberpunk now.

the first three are definitely the latter (with the exception of the NES port of U3, which was actually really good and added graphics with this newfangled stuff called "color")

ultima 4 and 5 are maybe about on the same level of accessibility as an old NES game. ultima 6 and 7, in turn, are kind of like going back to the SNES.

I am, instead, going to focus on cyber-post-punk, which is like cyberpunk only dronier and more depressing.

I mean I was watching Strange Days and it was interesting but I turned it off to watch Arrested Development with my mother and now I don't have much of an urge to finish it. The kind of worlds that cyberpunk stories have are just getting old to me.

Edit: Moriarty: Post-cyberpunk sheds the counter-culture attitude of cyberpunk and also portrays technology as a force that has a potential for good as well as abuses. It's more balanced out.

    The Diamond Age, for one

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, too

Personally I'm gonna work on Yuppie-Punk which will be a genre focused on really gritty retellings of the works of John Updike.

I would say Indiana Jones' theme song is in my top movie themes with Star Wars and Stargate. Some movies just have awesome theme songs.

Want to add ID4 to this list as well.

Terminator2 and Batman89 are permanently and for real-reals my favorite movie scores/themes.

I think the means by which the two are split in my head is that post-cyberpunk doesn't assume dystopia
