Printing an Art Book

Hey all!
My girlfriend has just confirmed that she's got a booth at a convention next month (9th Oct, so pretty much a month exactly. A little late to be sorting this out, I know).
She's an artist, so will be selling her own works. She also wants to put together an art book so she can sell copies at the booth/stall. I can put together a PDF (I think) so we're after recommendations about places to get it printed.
She's thinking of something between 20-40 pages at the moment. This can obviously be modified depending on costs etc. Nothing too fancy, nice paper + stapled together (rather than some fancy properly bound hardback thing) should do.
The main issue we have is that we're in Japan, so we're probably looking for something internet based that will ship to us for not too much.
Not too sure about number of copies, either. I guess it's better to get too many and sell any left overs online afterwards.
Anyone have any experience/suggestions/insight?

Is this not something a print shop can handle locally? Some sort of Japanese Kinkos? I mean, especially since you aren't looking for a cover+binding.

There's no way that Kablam or Lulu will be able to get your books to Japan within a month. You need to look at using a local printer if possible.

are YOU on the beer list?

Yeah, your best bet is to ask around for local print shops. There are usually a plethora of places that you can print your own book for relatively low costs, as long as it's a pretty good size city.

Yeah, I was thinking it might be a bit late to get it done from overseas. Thanks for the replies!
There are probably loads of local places (we're in Tokyo) so we'll have to brave the language barrier.
