So, i'm on vacation with my folks. Spending a week at their house. I brought my PS3 to take the time away. At my home i connect with HDMI. Their TV will not accept HDMI, so i'm trying to connect with the Yellow White Red cable, whatever it's called. They are currently connected to their cable box with YWR, and they have spare ports open for use. However when i try to connect with the PS3 it won't show anything nor will it give sound. Before you ask, yes i changed the TV input to the right station, as well as tested in the known good port that the cable box is in.
I'm jonesing for some Dues Ex right now and can't get my fix. Does anyone have any way they know to help me? My personal opnion is that there must be some kind of switch in the PS3 to change the output, but i don't know how to get there. Help????
I can't check out the youtube link from @dispatch.o so hopefully I'm not repeating information, but the trick I'm aware of is to reset the video settings by turning on the PS3 by holding the on "button" down for a few seconds until you hear some beeps. You should then be prompted by the video/audio settings wizard.
A relative of mine has an older model LCD that PS3s have issues with and has to go through this setup every 5-10 reboots.
