    Rain. Cold. Bargh.

But chestnuts and squirrels are about, which is nice. Halloween isn't big over here, really, but bonfire night is nice too.

As much as I love fall and spring for the middle-of-the-road weather, I have grown to absolutely HATE winter living in the north as I do.

Any time I have to make a trek through freezing wind I am just constantly silently cursing to myself.

A couple years ago my family went to Disney and it was 50 degrees the whole time. We were like, "Damn, guess we're wearing jeans instead of shorts," but everyone else was wearing scarves, thick jackets, etc. Florida be crazy.

    hahaha what

scarves and jackets in 50 degrees

I lived in South Florida for 20 years and I never wore scarves and jackets in 50 degree weather. I might throw on a hoodie but that's it.

I think a lot of people in Florida do that because it's as cold as it gets and they just want desperately to wear their winter clothes.

When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Penny Arcade and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter.

Usually September around here is like 90 freakin' degrees and endless wildfires.

Instead it is a comfortable 65-70 and over cast.

It's like Seattle weather, but only for a little while!
I am comfortable with this for the time being. As long as it doesn't rain. Because when it rains, it takes me 2 hours to get to work.

I will maybe make a thread nearer the time.

But it is on the 5th of November, and everyone knows the little song and we can all be glad the Gunpowder Plot failed. Local communities come together to see the fireworks and eat brandy snap, chestnuts and bonfire toffee. People throw the "Guys" on the bonfire and it is cosy. It is just a generally nice thing to see and to go to.

    Incorrect.

    Shoes are the best.

    Follow closely by hats.

Coats are a distant fourth, behind jackets.

fall is my favorite season. I love fall colors and smells and holidays. I wish I could live somewhere where it just alternates between fall and summer forever.

Unless I need a big thick one or I feel like a sports coat, I don't usually wear a jacket in the 50s.

    Lower 50s -high 40s is big-thick-one time.
