I was looking at picking this up for the wife after her last HP Mini got stepped on. All she really does with it is surf the web and watch Hulu and Youtube on the go. Thoughts?

I'd go with something that has an ION or AMD APU in it just for the help in accelerating flash. Something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220878 should do the trick.

For that kind of usage, just grab something with the longest battery life you can afford. 8+ hours is incredible.

I have used an older Lenovo S-10 and found that all the functions I would use it for are better suited on a tablet. If you're looking at Web, Youtube and Hulu an iPad or any of the major maker Android tablets will suffice. Obviously this does change the cost but having instant on is compelling. I have a Motorola Xoom (which is the bulkiest of the android tablets by far) and I prefer light web browsing on it compared to the S-10. It also functions as an e-reader pretty well for not being e-ink.

Edit: Amazon just announced their offering for a tablet. Might be worth a look considering it will be cheaper than a netbook.
