I find the SOFLAM invaluable in a squad when there's aircraft cruising around. Playing with pubs I could see it being pretty shitty.

If the MAV is anything like UAV in bfbc2 I know I'll get a lot of usage out of it

This game is p. good, but I am s. terrible at it.

How's the new close combat stuff anyway? I always liked the smaller, more infantry focused BF2/2142/BC2 maps, and I tend to get lost and randomly killed by people I can't see on the larger maps in this game, is it worth checking out?

I never liked BF2 Special Forces because it was smaller maps, no vehicles, more frantic, more kills more deaths and it seems like Close Quarters is more of the same.

I just felt like Battlefield trying to be like COD

and I'm specifically playing battlefield because it is not like COD

i picked up premium because im excited for armored kill and the other 2 expansions, so i saved money there

im having fun with CQ because i never really played COD and im familiar with battlefield

i probably wont play much CQ exclusive servers, but itll be a nice change of pace from the 'oh fuck i missed a ride, time to run a quarter mile'

Conquest Dom is easily the best game mode they made for it. Fast past and great if you want to go calls out with PDW, shotguns, and carbines.

The SOFLAM is the best on Operation Firestorm, because at the first base you can set it up on the top of the tower and you have 100% tanky access on the enemy base

and then they get in the tanks and Javelin hell rains from on high

I think I got like 10000+ points in one game doing that with my friend piloting the SOFLAM

Also, I'm considering buying a BF3 Premium membership.

Because for, like, $50 you get all the expansion packs that are released this year. That seems like a pretty good deal, even ignoring all the other stuff you get.

just had a pretty soIid round on karkand

hopped into a game midway through and went 23 and 7 I think with the 417, which it turns out is the sniper rifIe I've been waiting for.

dropped game after the round ended and a new map had Ioaded but I didn't get any of my points or unIocks saved and no battIereport. It's not Iike it's hard to get those again but it's stiII frustrating to not get a save on a good game.
