I just bought a new notebook and I'm running windows 7 (64bit)
often the indicator for the battery charge will say (plugged in, not charging) when the AC adapter is plugged in
I've gon through the procedure I found on google where you remove the battery, uninstall the battery from device manager, reboot, replace the battery and reinstall the driver
that works until I unplug the computer and then plug it back in
This happened to my notebook, wouldn't hold a charge, but worked while plugged in. Customer service told me to do this and surprisingly it worked.
The first step is to discharge the excess static charge that is built in the notebook. This step is called Power Drain.
All you need to do is that disconnect all the peripherals from the notebook.
Disconnect the A.C. adapter and also remove the battery and then press the power button for 30 seconds.
Then reconnect the battery and the A.C. adapter and then turn on the system.
