It was... a long week. A wedding I was best man in, my brother-in-law deployed to afghanistan, my grandma went into surgery to remove lymph nodes to see if they were cancerous, had to help my pregnant sister move out of their big ass house where it was just me and my dad doing everything, had to take my nephew to the emergency room yesterday morning, and also found out that my ex I'm not fully over got engaged.
This is going to be a nice pleasant weekend where I don't do anything at all

I've been very busy, very very busy, but I am having a great time and am perhaps happier than I have ever been.
Plus I love autumn.
I'm good, listening to Swordfights' link (<3 Mumford & Sons), remembering the time I drew him a unicorn.
My mum was diagnosed with "YOU ARE SO FUCKED" cancer in late February and last month was given a clean bill of "Forget this whole cancer thing ever happened" health. I'm in school full time for the first time in forever, and I just got off of a 12 hour line cookin' shift, wherein I made all of the foods. I'm alright. It's past dawn, and I'm still drinking beers. Not planning to be drunk before I go to sleep in a bit, and looking forward to reading more responses. Yahtzee's breakdown of GoW3 made me giggle hysterically.
Planning to keep on with my replay of Oblivion (On the Xbox this time, not the PC!) so I can get 'er done before Skyrim comes out. I've played Morrowind through so many times at this point it's gross. Anyway.

She was like, "Cancer? NOPE." It was a rough fuckin' road. And she kicked the ever living shit out of it. Her 5 year prognosis in the first place was "5 years? HAHAHAHAHA!" And now she's ovary-free and welcome to live her life for another 4 decades if that's what she feels like doing. WHEW. One in a million, that lady.
I have been running my life from my iPhone, which it turns out isn't the worst thing in the world to have to do.
There's a silver lining, though. My parents agreed to give me a cool grand for Christmas and they're going to let me have it early to pay for a new laptop. I'll have to wait for my next paycheck to make the difference but I'm going to shoot for the stars and get a fully-loaded HPdv7!
Other than that, VoC got me a very belated birthday gift of LA Noire and Assassin's Creed 2 and I've cracked into the later yesterday and am enjoying it. My boss is finally hiring 2 other salespeople to man the phone kiosk where I work and my schedule has stabilized so I'm not working erratic hours anymore. Also, I'm invited to a cabin by the lake over next weekend to drink, stay up late and play tabletop games with a bunch of nerds, one of which may be a game of Call of Cuthulu starring the cast of Scooby Doo.
So overall I'm alright.

So about a year ago, my grandpa Bruce as diagnosed with colon cancer. The same thing that killed his father. Luckily, it was caught early and he had a very high chance of being completely cured after only one surgery. Unfortunately that surgery was removing a foot of his colon. He was told he would need to be in the hospital on bedrest for at least a week to recover. The day after the surgery, a nurse went in to check on him, and Bruce was gone. In a panic, they called my Grandma, telling her they couldn’t find him. Her reply was “I know, he’s right here driving home.” Bruce had taken out his IVs, gotten dressed, walked out, and called my grandma to come get him. And then he drove her home. The people at the hospital were like “You can’t do that!” And Bruce yelled “Well, I did it.” And they said “You didn’t even sign out!” And he told them “Sign it for me.”
My grandparents are badass.
This morning I got in a good early morning run and some lawn mowing.
I'm in the middle planning my honeymoon to New Zealand, which I am freaking excited about.
I bought Dark Souls earlier and proceeded to flail and rage at my screen for a few hours.
A few hours ago I removed a snake from the back veranda and away from the dogs.
Today has been the most productive day ever and I'm feeling pretty darn good.

To be fair though yesterday I fell asleep at 5 a.m. and woke up at 2:30 p.m. so I'm basically just taking naps at random points in the day now.
In other news, I'm really tired and I want to go to bed. Night shift is awesome, but it makes these midday appointments suck a little.
