I used the auto-detect software from AMD to find the latest driver for my computer's ATI Radeon HD 5800 card. Halfway through the installation the fan went nuts and I got a blue screen explaining that my computer had to shut down to protect itself. My screen is now in low-definition. When I go to my device manager and look at the video card under display adapters, I see the following message:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.
Any suggested fixes aside from taking it into a computer shop or getting a new card?
You can't reinstall a new driver? Or rollback to an older driver? Can you use the system restore point from before the installation of the new driver (most Windows PCs can do this now)?
I uninstalled it and reinstalled using their suite and I still get the following message:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
Even though the ATI software said the installation was successful
Ok, I don't have the option to roll back now that I have reinstalled it.
