Eridan acts more snobby but the way he speaks is clearly very casual and blunt, what with giving everyone a 1-syllable nickname and cutting the hard consonants off the ends of words

I really don't agree. I have no trouble hearing the different sounds.
It DOES bleed together, but that's kind of how it's supposed to sound. The various sounds with the original version kind of mesh together and aren't very distinctive from each other once the main melody kicks in.
