This game is a blast.

Gotham Central has the single most depressing fucking ending as a series. I mean I know in context it's not the last time we see those characters but as a book the end is just like

Finished the story, all I have to say is god damn.

Also I tried out Robin in the challenge maps, the bullet shield is interesting but he is kinda limited in Predator missions

Combat missions, however, I fucking love his attacking animations. Staffs have always been a favourite weapon of mine and it looks amazing here

Although it's strange that there is some extra dialogue for the thugs/the villain over the PA, but Robin doesn't have any dialogue at all on these maps

catwoman segments were really fun at the beginning of the game

but once her third chapter came around and i'd been playing as batman with all of his upgrades for eight hours, it seemed very limited and frustrating

during the big reveal: As badass as the batman game music is, and how much I dislike the Saw movie franchise, I had their 'plot twist' theme in my head during the sequence where batman puts it all together. I couldn't shake it.

It gets MUCH easier once you get the Crit, 5x Combo Special, and 2 Armor upgrades. I'm now at full armor and am now wishing there was a harder difficulty. Untill I got those upgrades I was hating the game though.

I'm almost done with the story but I'm mired in the middle of another Catwoman part. Look, I like the Catwoman parts but after playing as Batman for so long and getting invested in the story it's a really jarring change. I kind of just wish I could skip it.

apparently you are meant to use the Line Launcher with the tightrope upgrade, where you basically just sit on the rope

I think Hard is giving me exactly the right amount of challenge - I really have to work to win every fight. Boss fights are taking me between 5 and 20 tries easy. I played through AA on hard a few times, but AC steps it up quite a bit, partly just b/c there are so many moves to keep track of.

I'd forgotten what it was like to get into a new fight and be going "holy shit, holy shit, there's guys everywhere, AHHHHH." Back in AA it was more "bam bam bam, crap I lost the combo. oh well, back to Batmanning dudes."

I only just beat the museam, but my advice is to abuse the hell out of moves that make you invincibile(that is, guys won't attack you while doing them). Armor guys I just immediately take out with combat takedowns. Knife guys are just normal dudes that are harder to counter so I just punch them in the face. Haven't got to the shield guys yet though.

I also figured out last night that doing a Beatdown on someone puts them in a stun mode that lets you continue the beat down at anytime. So you can start a beatdown and if someone comes up to hit you you can counter them, and then go back to working that guy over some more. Really helps on the fights that include a Titan/hammer. Tripple stun them and then start the beat down while countering people that try to stop you. Do that twice and big guy is dead.

Still trying to use all my gadgets in a single fight. The Batclaw fucks me up a lot, and sometimes my batarangs get me punched. Getting much better at the explosive gel in combat though once I figured out it acts as an evade(I think, I was pretty tired while playing last night).

And my experience with the museum

That first room with the "Recruits" where you fight a shit ton of guys then fight some more + A half titan'd freak. Was that first set of guys really weak? I killed them all really fast and was expecting to be fighting for much longer based on how many guys were actually in there.

Solomon Grundy was sweet. I am dissapointed Batman didn't have anything clever to say to him.

Thanks for the beatdown tip - I just got to the (late-ish boss fight)

Joker fight and having a Titan guy running around plus all the regular, knife, shield and Hammerman guys running around was making it difficult. Usually I use the takedown for a few seconds of invulnerability but Titan guy just runs over me and doesn't even care.

I was kind of...disappointed that Ra's was behind Strange. When Strange said, "my master" I was like, "Oooh, who could it be? We already have Joker and Ra's and they're Batman's "biggest" villains." I mean, it really couldn't have been anybody else, but it was a kind of lackluster twist.

I wish Robin was in the story more (duh) and that Batman wasn't such a dick to him. I mean, Batman was kind of a dick to everybody but, still. Tim's the one Batman isn't a dick to.

When the fake Joker started to transform I was like FUCK YEAH CLAYFACE

When Hugo Strange said "I have powerful friends." I wanted Batman to be like, "So do I." and then Superman crashes in and punches Strange and then it cuts to SUPERMAN/BATMAN: BEAT DOWN MOTHERFUCKERS COMING IN 2012

I wish you could zip up Catwoman's costume.
