GTA4 was a huge disappointment for me

like Oblivion after Morrowind, the gameplay mechanics mostly improved, but the world the game was set in was lacking. it felt empty and unfulfilled.

We must be polar opposites because I loved Oblivion and thought Morrowind was pretty boring.

I'm not going to lie: I am totally ready for Rockstar's environmental / level design guys to give Los Angeles a sloppy blowjob like 4 did for NY. With all it technical limitations, San Andreas somehow did a reasonable job of getting the light in LA right. Coming back to that on modern hardware?

    Oh Lordy.

They just need to keep sparring back and forth with Volition on alternating release schedules so I always have a new Stealin' Cars game to look forward to.

Isn't that only a couple decades behind RDR?

    I would be

    completely fine

if they just took the gameplay and engine from RDR

changed the settings, recorded new voices and made a new plot

and just leave it at that

    Honestly?

    I would be too.

I mean, I'd want more than just that stuff from a legit sequel.

But if they only made those changes, I'd still think it's a fantastic game

For an RDR sequel, I would like the game to take place in the post-Civil War south and you play as a disgraced confederate soldier. There would be lots of western style gameplay but in Appalacian and swampy settings. Throw in some eastern Texas at the end of the game to highlight the main character's transition from a southern soldier to a western outlaw and to tie it in to the other Red Dead games.

Basically what I want is a DC's All Star Western game.

One is a dying way of life, of which you play as a remnant
The other is a place that never experienced that kind of environment

That all said I would play an expansion pack where you go apeshit in a Victorian Buckingham palace.

I think you just want for RDR what Saints Row is to GTA.

    Grand

    Theft

    Steamcarriage

You star as a goggles-wearing, ex-skypirate with a dashing name and even more dashing mustache. You woo ladies in elaborate corsets and steal walking steam-tanks and in the end you have to help repel and invasion from Mars a-la The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

    Wait, nevermind.

Just make a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen game set in the comic universe and give it cooperative multiplayer.
