Become A Badass? [Lifestyle Design)

We have a weight gaining/workout thread, we have a weight loss thread, we have threads about books, occupying Sesame Street, purging the unclean and Ovaltine Jenkins, but we don't have a thread about lifestyle design? We need to get on this.

Lifestyle design, as a term, was first used by Tim Ferriss, author of The 4 Hour Workweek, The 4 Hour Body, and rumor has it, he’s working on The 4 Hour Chef. There are plenty of people who have done similar things, Tony Robbins has been speaking for years on motivation and inspiration for success, Steven Covey with his 7 Habits, even Rolling Stone’s author Neil Strauss, going from chump to champ learning how to be a world class player in The Game, and learning to be a badass survivalist in Emergency.

Changing yourself into the person you want to be is a difficult thing, if it was easy everyone would live a lifestyle in accordance to their wishes. There’s a large contingent in the lifestyle design community that encourages quitting your job and setting out on your own to achieve your dreams. Due to me being relatively young, and just starting out in my career, I’m not focused on that too much. What I am focused on is making myself into the best I can be (no, not joining the army). While I’ve been what many people would consider “cool” for most of my life, I still want to take myself to that next level. I have a wide range of goals and multiple to-do lists in order to do so, largely related around eating healthier, getting in better shape, gaining the skills and knowledge for my dream job and living a highly active lifestyle.

Are you a budding entrepreneur trying to get away from the 9-5 grind? An aspiring international man of mystery in shining leather pants armor? Maybe you're like me and you just want to ignore the usual script we're supposed to follow (get up, go to work/school, go home watch tv, sleep, repeat)?
What comes to mind when you think of lifestyle design?

A while back I hated where my life was and where my life was going. Now I'm happily engaged, in the best shape I've been in since high school, have a bunch of wild stories and most importantly I enjoy my life! You can check out what I'm up to next at http://coolbyintent.com/blog
