Game Boy related question

Thanks in advance for any replies I may get.

I'm planning on selling a Game Boy I bought long time ago in South America here in France.

The question is simple: Is the GameBoy also ruled by the whole region deal (Ntsc/Pal)?
I remember playing a game boy game I bought in Europe in my american GB and had no problems with it.

    Game Boy and all other Nintendo handhelds are region free.
