oh snaps, looks fairly legit.
but from what i remember the 1st one wasn't that good, the blend of top down and sidescrolling.
anyone with a bit better memory able to discern if this is the 1st one?
Edit: And if that doesnt light your fancy.... how about something in the immediate future.
When there are holes that appear on the release calendar it's often because the games in question failed certification. Sometimes even the "back-up" games for a given week of release on Xbox Live Wednesdays fail certification: "[This week] We really did have multiple titles slip at the same time. That is not our plan going forward," Greenberg assured. "We are excited to bring Alien Hominid out next week; we are excited to make up for lost time."
edit again: Arg, desired to switch this to a general purpose XBLarcade thread, but under the new system we cant change the titles ourselves...

Edit: Also the first one was NES only, but the first one in the aracade is the above pictured(it was also ported to the NES with a bunch of graphic cutbacks(obviously))
i vaguely remember playing that a few times.
Edit: oh, if it was the 2nd one on the nes, then AWESOME..
It was a great game though, I actually played it a bit a month or two ago.
So was the simpsons arcade game that was in the same vein. Id love to see that on either XBLA or the PS3 equivalent.

That border hurts mein eyes.
edit - Bleh, I don't really care about Alien Hominid. I just want Worms and SOTN.
Still, sweet. XBLA's just racking up the cool points. And I always liked the arcade version more. I remember being sorely disappointed at not having the same experience when I bought the NES one.
They're almost two completely different games.
The NES is still good, sure, but the arcade version's got the hardcore.
This would make me buy a 360.

The Arcade version of Turtles in Time is shit - pure, absolute shit. The SNES version is superior in nearly every way, but I'm not sure that Konami would be able to put a souped-up SNES version on XBLA due to licensing arrangements.
- The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (2017, colorized)
4-player, more animations/poses, more voices, actual stages for the boards that weren't just bonus stages...
On the other hand, polish up the SNES version with the above stuff and whatever else, and it'd be perfect.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
Throw X-Men on that list, while we're at it.

YES.
Jeez, that X-men arcade game was so god damned good.
The first one was an adventure game. Very difficult. The first one was awesome. Fuck anyone who tells you different, especially the Angry Nintendo Nerd.
I still have nightmares about the first game. I never was able to go beyond the area after the underwater bombs section. Still was a cool game tho.

Linn rocked.
I think my version was broken because i could NEVER get passed the third level, the one where you drive the van around the city to find some guy. I must have played that game 1000 times, literally, because i loved it. I would bust my ass to beat the first few levels, even that annoying as shit swimming level where you diffuse the bombs, only to get to level 3 where i would just drive the van around for like 5 hours before i got bored and turned it off. I could never, ever find the guy i needed to find.

Oh yes, and it was a grand one - back in the days when Capcom was churning out hit after hit in the arcades, albeit it beat 'em ups or fighting games. Dungeons and Dragons (both of them), Captain Commando, The Punisher, Knights of the Round, Magic Sword are some of the others that were great around then.
All of them I wish were on the 360 arcade; that might make the system a buyer for me then.
In the video, the ANN has a long rant about this one jump over a very short space with very low clearance that he deems impossibly counter-intuitive. The solution is simply to walk over it, and your turtle will hop over the small gap.
Trouble is, earlier in the gameplay videos, a turtle hops a similar jump the exact same way. After seeing that, I thought, "why doesn't he try just walking over it?" Even had I not seen previous gameplay, it's not like a solution one wouldn't at least try in desperation.
And, yes, that underwater bombs section is the truly murderous part of the game.
I'm pretty sure 90% of us did the same thing, I remember my friend and I trying to jump that for literally an hour. We never did get past it. But yeah most people don't know about the hopping thing the turtles do for the one stone gaps.
To this day I could still map out the entire underwater area including bombs and traps from memory. I got to the point where I could do it without taking any damage.
I don't know, man. I picked it up just by watching the turtle move.
But yeah, this is good news. The only thing is that if they bring over TiT, even though the arcade version was fun and supported 4P, the SNES version had some fun extra levels (I know at least Technodrome wasnt in arcade). Oh well.

Goddamn, Microsoft, you're making me want a 360 for Live Arcade alone.
Every Extend Extra is pretty much my most-played PSP game.

the arcade is getting quite a bit of my money lately.
Edit: DIBS ON RAPH.
At this stage I would almost buy a 360 solely for Live Arcade titles.
EDIT: Heh, maximumzero and I are brothers from another mother.
Oh man I'm excited.
