So Jim Carrey all playing a serious role and whatnot.

Rotten tomatoes hates it - 8% http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_number_23/

I saw it last night though, It wasn't 8% bad, but it wasn't downright spectacular. I mean, it was worth the $5-6 however many dollars it was worth.

It was a pretty good mystery flick but with instances of poor acting (most obvious in a few cutaway scenes that is basically actors acting out scenes in the book as Carrey's character reads, however I think it was somewhat intentional in those scenes to be a little over the top and comic-booky)

It wasn't awful, but it wasn't something I'd pay to see again.

Anyone else see it?

    Coincidentally about an hour after seeing this, I went to the ATM and took out a bunch of cash.

    My remaining balance was $177.62

    I'm trying to decide if that was intentional on The Geek's part (he is a sly fox) or he just got the wrong end of the stick. I don't think there are many people, even on here, that would think beating up people while dressed up as Inuyasha was normal.

    I think it would be funnier, and creepier if he beat up kids while dressed as Inuyasha. Also, he should scream "KAGOME!" at the top of his lungs with each attack.

    I dont think Jim Carrey does well in dramatic roles, but at least he is trying. I might see reno but I am very much looking forward to seeing 300, oh and I got in on a preview screening of Black Snake Moan, that was pretty good,
    Nympho Christina Ricci chained to a radiator, oh yeah
    The director was there for a Q&A it was pretty cool.

    Jim Carrey was amazing in Eternal Sunshine, which isn't a comedic role per se. He plays the nervous loser very, very well.

    The only comedy bits in #23 could easily be seen as unintentional.

    There's no real obvious comic relief though.

    That's reason enough to give him some leeway.
