That's too far in the other direction. A balanced approach is necessary, and not the minimum amount of QC possible to keep the public from murdering them.

...and Blizzard, at least, only gets away with that because the first time they really pushed (and got) extra time... was Starcraft.
No, Blizzard gets away with it because they routinely put out top tier fantastic products. I can't remember a time blizzard developed a game that I was disappointing in.
