"He should have supported covert action on the ground."
How would we have known if he did or didn't?
This worked so well last time, after all.

Lack of support? He put the troops in and more resources in Afganistan. And Taliban isn't a security threat? Why do they control a good chunk of Afghanistan still?
Huntsmen must be using all his control to not face palm when these people are talking.
I can't help but feel like "let's do whatever the commanders in the field recommend" is bullshit. No general is ever going to give up their power- they'll always just ask for more and more soldiers. At some point the president needs to reign them in.
The only way to "secure" afghanistan is to go in full force, all guns firing, all bombs dropping, and raze the country. We will not, should not do that. Afghanistan is just a giant money and resource sink unless we play for keeps.
And of course violence has sprung up elsewhere. It's like an ant infestation in your yard. You poison the hill, so the ants move to another spot. Poison and repeat.

Military is under civilian control for a reason, yes.

And is Cain talking about the green revolution? You know the one that has been violently stomped down?
How would we have known if he did or didn't?

Yeah, it feels weird. But its nice to see someone remember the constitution.
If we strip Iran of all life, we can push them back indefinitely! Exterminatus!
Also showing he knows what the fuck he is saying.
Wait, is Mitt saying we shouldn't be leaving the middle east?

To see the cloud from that, it would almost be worth it.

I swear, it's like he just reads the Republican Cliff's Notes and tries to make a connection somewhere.
