Recommend some non-gadget and non-web tech and science blogs
I use Techmeme for the gadgets/web stuff because 99% of them say the same things about the same stuff. What I'm looking for is something like Popular Science. I already have Popular Science in my feed reader, but more options would be nice. Preferably blogs and sites that don't have 5-400 posts a day.
Do you want opinion pieces, or new studies/theories?
Anything's good as long as it's interesting. I can't read most scientific literature due to profound boredom with the writing, so not that if it's what you mean by "new studies/theories." :rotate:
Steve Novella's NeuroLogica blog is also pretty good reading. He mostly writes about dodgy science to outright pseudoscience nonsense and usually does a really good job of illuminating the weak links in the arguments.
http://www.newscientist.com/ is fairly awesome. They flip/flop on paygating, mainly because no one reads their site when they have it, but they still keep trying it every few months.

Also Phil Plait's "Bad Astronomy" blog
Been reading Phil Plait since BA was a manually updated page talking about the latest doomsday cult. Good stuff. And I added the other one. Thanks.
