Mouse jitters when I pick it up. It's become more pronounced recently (obvious when I'm playing Fallout NV). I tried updating the drivers, but the problem still seems to persist. It's a Gigabyte GM-M6800 laser mouse if that makes a diff. I've had it for about a year, and I don't remember it being this bad even a few weeks ago. Is my mouse slowly dying?

very well could be dying.... Which sucks. If only we could expect a reasonable life out of our tech..... If you have bluetooth, i say go pick up an Apple Magic Track Pad. It will take a bit to get use too, but eventually it will become more accurate and efficient
Do you mean it jitters when you're holding it in the air? If it's fine when actually on a surface then the problem shouldn't interfere with much, should it? My cursor always moves at least a little if I lift my mouse off the surface.
Other than that, is there any chance the sensor is dirty? Maybe there's a little piece of fuzz that wiggles in the wind when you pick up your mouse.
Ooo, I just blew off the sensor with some canned air and that seems to have fixed it. Thanks!
It was a real problem when playing Fallout because I tend to pick the mouse up just a bit when turning. The screen shake when the mouse was off the pad was starting to drive me nuts.
