Possibility of using a PS3 controller with a PSP-3000

I just got a PSP-3000 a few days ago, along with the component cables to hook it up to my TV. I played it a little bit last night and it seemed to work pretty well! However, it'd be even better if I could use my PS3 controller with it. Does anyone know if this is possible without custom firmware?

I actually just did a search on the forums and saw that someone asked this question in here early last year, but got no response. So I'm guessing no, but maybe someone here knows something definitive.

Thanks!

The PS3 controller connects via Bluetooth, which is only available on the PSP Go.

Side note - This is the reason the PS3 only supports seven wireless controllers instead of eight. It supports eight linked devices total, and the PS3 system itself is considered a device.

Resistance Retribution lets you link up with a PS3 and Resistance 2 to play with a DS3 on any model PSP, but that's it as far as OFW goes.

    No problem.

People talk down on the Go all of the time, but one of the coolest features it has is between a DS3 and a TV out, it basically becomes a miniature PS1/PSP/Minis console.

There was actually a combination TV out/Dual Shock 2 adaptor for the PSP 1000 called the PSP2TV. It only output 480i over composite, required you to open your system to install it, and basically destroyed the ability to carry the PSP in your pocket, but was still a pretty cool piece of hardware for the time.

Heh, if the Go had UMD support, it'd be perfect for me! Oh well.
