I need to have a talk with my friend.
She loved the second one so asked for this.
Then she played it and doesn't want.
Then I played and I'm wondering "what the hell is wrong with her?"

The beginning is a bit slower with the forced activities (They were semi-forced in sr2 for the rep needed, but not actually 'missions') but it picks up really quickly once you get through 3-4 missions. I can definitely see someone being turned off from the beginning if they don't give the game a chance to pick up.

Okay yeah wow, how do you avoid those snipers? I have one on me during some activities and they just can't be shaken.

Shoot down the helicopter? You're fairly safe from snipers if you swerve your car side to side while driving.

So, apparently the facebook integration for Volitions SRTT community site has gone live today:

Yeah, but it posted it on facebook without even mentioning sr3, it just said at the top "I love rim jobs!"
and it only described it at the bottom

Then it said how many prostitutes I escorted in a later message.

This has to be the funniest thing I have read in forever. I'm laughing right now just typing this.

One thing I wish would get modded or fixed is how vehicles and people will vanish when you get closer to the ground, that is just annoying. Be on a spot, zoom in and they disappear.

Okay, on everyone's achievements do they still got that mystery one? The one with a question mark?

Because now in that box is a description. Namely "love".

I'm half starting to wonder if this has to do with some of the characters in the game responding to the boss and what she says, using the Russian one and she's definitely got a thing for Pierce, that's crystal clear, no ambiguity here at all. As I went to save she even said random "is Pierce into me?"

So wondering if it's all tied together or what.

I got to admit, I was more partial to the DLC before I found out a lot of it was on the disc/download already.

So they're confirming my fears about their DLC policy, giving us shit I could whip up in texmod in 20 minutes and charging for it.

Really though, the "Cheat" DLC soured me on this whole thing. That's worse than fucking horse armor.

Pretty much, didn't they say something like 200 weeks of DLC?

This kind of thing is going to turn people against them fairly quick which is a shame. The more I see of all this the more I firmly believe THQ pretty much took their balls off during this game and hence why we'll have to pay for stuff that was left out or cut for DLC purposes, again stuff like the shark gun and all being on the disc does not inspire confidence.

Wonder if the bombing of the last Red Faction game is partly to blame for all this.

Is this free with the $20 season pass I bought? If so I retract my statement, but I doubt it is

  • PreacherPreacher Registered User regular
Yeah that better be free with the season pass. If not why else own the season pass?

It's just the achievement love/hate relationship, actually. It shows up really glitchy like.

The season pass is for the actual game dlc.

And yeah, THQ's hands are all over this. If the Bling Gun does anything special beyond the base shotgun, then I might buy it. --- Why isn't the Pimp Cane returning?!

I wish I would have used them more learning afterwards they have little conversations with each other.

And I don't think THQ ushered in this kind of nickle and dime DLC, first time I saw this kind of crap was Dead Space/Mass Effect 2. Both EA games I might add.

And right now THQ's stock is taking a pounding as if it was Zimos in the pony barn.

I hope that doesn't screw up Volition even more then THQ already been doing shit to them.

Wait, so all this DLC stuff is already on the disc? How convenient! I've already bought the disc, so I'm sure THQ won't mind if I make a few modifications to the stuff that's on it.

THQ lowers Q3 expectations by 25% due to weak uDraw sales on 360 and PS3

THQ has updated its outlook for Q3 2012 ending December 31 by 25%, due to lower than expected sales of its uDraw tablet for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The company now expects to report net sales of $510 million to $550 million.

“Despite uDraw’s strong success on the Wii in fiscal 2011 and market research indicating strong demand for uDraw on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, initial sales of our uDraw tablet and software on these high-definition platforms have been weaker than expected,” said Brian Farrell, THQ president and CEO.

“WWE 12 and Saints Row: The Third are expected to perform at or better than the levels we discussed on our fiscal 2012 second quarter earnings call. As we continue to move through the third quarter, we are focused on driving sales of our key holiday titles and maximizing profitability.”

THQ expects to announce Q3 2012 results in early February 2012, and to provide an update to its Q4 and full year guidance at that time.

On the bright side it sounds like SR3 is doing very well.

So I turned off the game at "Rescue Angel" because I had to go to work and return it.

Think I might pick it up after all.

Also, Male 3 voice at times sounds like someone doing a bad Jason Statham impression. And it works fairly well on my hot chick character.

So two actually decent games sold at or better than expectation, and some useless extra dongle shit failed to score. Good job thq.

The sad thing is, I can see the UDraw tablet being a decent niche product. Get it for your artistic(oh lord I almost wrote autistic D: ) kid, they get to mess around with digital art and have a jolly old time, costs maybe 20 bucks more than a full game. Which is how it originated.

The problem comes when THQ tries to turn it from a way to get another little sip of cash from a different angle than usual, into a way to chug bank.

...Also, gonna be honest, I'm tempted by that Explosive Combat Pack. I am extremely easy to tempt with grenade launchers, it turns out. It's a carryable weapon, right?

EDIT: Oh, hey, guess what I just noticed. Space Marine, another THQ published title, is also getting in on the game. With armor skins. Fucking armor skins. That are likely on the disc.

Really, if there's any DLC I'd buy in a heartbeat, it's "more rifles/shotguns/smg's/handguns"

That and a kinzie style DLC pack. I would wear the shit outta that.

the sad thing is I'd easily pay $10 or $15 for a clothing and weapon dlc pack

pack being the operative word, like I want two dozen outfits and a dozen weapons and some cars and helicopters while we're at it

  • CadeCade Eppur si muove.Registered User regular
With how THQ is doing things it's like a single costume and a weapon which is a bit of a rip off for the prices they're going to charge.

Horse armor? Title of the thread should be "THQ selling you whore armor"

you just gotta be selective. i'm not a huge fan of the pricing scheme, though.
