Nose Hair Trimmer?

It's, uh, totally not for me.

It's for my dad. As often happens when men age, his nose hair is fast becoming a mustache. He's usually well-groomed; he just hates shopping. So he's agreed to take care of it as long as I buy him the product. Does anyone have any experience with this? Suggested products?

Having one with a built in vacuum is nice.

panasonic and sharper image sell good ones. A vacuum is nice so your not sneezing or blowing your nose a lot afterwards. I tried using one once but it turned my nose into a mini iron maiden. My nose hairs aren't really that big of a problem though and now I just use grooming scissors if I see one sticking out. But I think it would be worth it if he really has an overgrowth of hair in his nose or ears.

I just use a small pair of scissors.

I use the one included in this. I'm sure there are a lot of fancier ones available (this has no vacuum), but don't see a need to turn this into a fine art - just wanna keep those outermost hairs from getting so long that they stick out. It's been working well for about 2 years now, and I got it from my brother for Christmas (asked him for it).

The rest of the attachments are nice, too - the mini shaver has helped in a pinch when I had to fly without checking any bags (these can go in a carry-on).

You don't need a vacuum. I don't use this exact model and I'm not going to both to look for it because they're basically the same, but I use this type. I grow nose hairs fast and have to trim them weekly. Just wipe with a tissue (or even your hand) and any cut hair that anyone's going to see will be cleaned up. The whole procedure takes literally seconds to do if you do it regularly, though the first trim may be unpleasant and long.
