I have a project at work that is going to need the work of a 3D modeler, but none of us have ever worked with one before.
What is a good place or strategy for finding good 3D artistic talent?
This seems to be more a niche than, say, web design or such.
This 3D would be more... not fine art, but more like building sets for a simulation. Probably not any more sophisticated than would you would see on a Wii Sports game.
There are probably jobs boards on the various 3d/cg forums out there. What do you mean by 'Wii Sports'? Pretty but not technically crazy, or do you mean its for demonstration purposes and doesn't really need to look great art wise? The first one is deceptively difficult, but the latter would be something a student or someone still learning could do for a smaller fee.
