So, my wife got me a fish tank, I am looking at getting White Cloud Minnows. However the whole food thing is confusing the crap out of me, there seems to be unlimited kinds at the store. Basically, I need to know if I need the tropical fish food flakes or if regular gold fish flakes will work.

I know that they like a varied diet, I am looking for a basic staple food right now.

Since they are not goldfish, I would stick with the Tropical fish flakes. I used to keep inexpensive, small, hardy freshwater fish like those, and I fed them tropical flakes and freeze dried krill as a treat. Make sure you don't overfeed!

They'll probably go nuts for freeze dried blood worms too.

But yeah, pretty much any of the tropical fish flakes will keep them happy. Well, as happy as a fish can be, anyway.

Perfect, thank you for the responses.

I was finding it pretty frustrating to keep reading "flake food" for their diet, but what type of flake food.
