As requested in chat, here are my two 50+ minute ZvTs from last night.
The first is a ladder match in which my opponent GGs prematurely after I destory a push and then "takes it back". What ensues after that is the scrappiest win I've ever put together:
The second is a game vs Keamien where he uses the power of an 8,000 mineral bank to recover from me destroying two bases and killing literally all of his SCVs:
Is it completely insane of me to think that I might enjoy 2s/3s/4s off-racing more than playing them as Zerg? There has to be some skill crossover, right? I mean, I've seen as much in my Zerg -> Protoss -> Zerg travels through the Bronze league.
From our CSL match I was very surprised you were only bronze. You macro'd very well, and just need a bit more in the awareness/APM department.
Hehe, thanks! I have something on the order of 330 career wins in bronze, so I predict that I'll have to bring the MMR gods a unicorn horn and the still-warm heart of a Grandmaster before they let me into silver.
I was thinking of off-racing in 4s more from the perspective of "would I enjoy the Zerg playstyle when there are *four* other players to which I have to react, instead of one?" - I'm sure there's some way that is made to work, but I think it might be more fun to be proactive in that environment.
I still haven't figured out when I'd have time for more than my 3-4 1v1 ladder games a day, so it's kind of a moot point.
@Callow It looks like you're very close. The problem with bronze is that it holds an incredibly broad skill spectrum. You're probably at least 10-times better than you were when you started, but still not quite in Silver.
The good news is you're very close. According to your sc2ranks site (http://www.sc2ranks.com/team/3501679), you're in about the Top 2% of Bronze. All of my promotions thus far have come around the Top 0.2% of the respective league. Just keep improving, having fun, and you'll be there any day.
Stephano just played an awesome ZvT on Shattered Temple. It was back and forth all game, and the Terran decided to go ghost/raven against Stephano's infestor/broodlord/corruptor composition. Then the pimpest play happened: the Terran sent two HSMs at Stephano's flock of overseers. Stephano ran them back, and then the Terran ran his ghosts in and EMP'd all the infestors. It was so awesome.
Okay guys, I have to go get shot by a doctor today, so it'll take me a while to get home, but I anticipate that people will be around later tonight.
I'm gonna say either 8 or 9 EST I'll try to set up an FFA for Funday Monday, whoever wants to join in, please do.

Me me me, please! I'll even voluntarily go by "aaaaPrincesscake" if that gets me a spot! (8-9 EST is perfect too)
I gotta say, I just watched Avenge v. Idra, and Avenge won game 1 with a not very tight timing attack. His econ was set up badly and he banked a ton of gas, while leaving his warp prism in one place and not reinforcing all that well. Idra just wasn't set up well to defend his third.
attack people in alphabetical order. I thought it would be less fun if people knew the order in which people would be attacked, but I guess we'll see. Maybe if it was a swapcraft ffa alphabet style that would work better :P
Well the order varies a little depending on who's doing the attacking, so if the earliest victim gets creative/aggressive then the next in line might be boned.
building spines in his base = actually a really good idea

So I just watched some of the vods from the CSL. Hearing Kambing pronounce my name as "tea can" was like nails on a blackboard. But I loved the casting, even the big group cast at the end. And you guys opened by eyes to how horrible my building placement is for ZvZ as well as how I should be responding to proxy 2gates.

I lost to a master toss yesterday who did this on metalopolis. =\
I messed up big time and delayed the entire thing by about 1 minute.
He was smart too and scouted for overlords watching for open spots.
I'm thinking of switching it up a bit by just using a handful of hydras for the initial scare factor / pressure on front, skip range and then changing into mass slings since his composition will be mainly stalker / sentry which are weak to good sling control.
He was also really good in his cannon placement by putting them far enough where spine couldn't hit them, but Zerg would lose a lot of units by trying to bottleneck down the ramp to properly kill the 3 cannons. He had built an extra pylon behind them to keep them powered. This was after the first 3 pylons blocking the ramp.
As pigeonholed as hydras are (i.e. useless otherwise).... their range shouldn't need to be upgraded.

narwhal tried to canon my natural first game of the csl. it wasn't a success, i was able to take the canons down with a couple crawlers and OL sight. In the mean time, I macro hatch'd, 1 base lair'd hydra tech and MMMygdus'd her.

Won my first game using an archon toilet today. Fun stuff. Still played terribly overall though... Have a look and tell me stuff about how bad it really was :P http://drop.sc/101236
also, someone posted something on another board I visit today and it really mirrors the way I feel so I thought I'd post it here as well.
It's interesting, but it deals with the idea of 'rage' in games from a very narrow perspective, at least when compared to my own investigation and analysis of what it is about gaming that makes me angry.
The article is far more focussed on the concept of rage in competitive gaming, and it doesn't bring anything to the table that's outside of what's already understood by performance analysis of typical athletes.
In terms of my own anger at games, it came (and indeed comes) from self esteem issues and the related fear of failure and worries about perception of my own qualities and skills.
I've never really considered myself to be 'good' at anything, so as a result of my victories at Fragsoc (particularly when I first joined), I became very invested in a personal image that games are something that I'm skilled at, which led me to build quite a fragile self image of myself defined by my skill at gaming.
Whenever I lose, it's not only a loss, but it's something that directly contradicts my self image and esteem about my abilities, skills and positive attributes.
At that point, a game becomes far more than simply a game, it becomes something you're so heavily invested in because it begins to define you as a person, and you don't see other positive qualities that can give you a healthier and more diverse self image.

Yeah, I heard that works really well against anything for us. Until units half the cost just run up and kill us that is.
FFA or 1v1s is all I'll really consider playing, most of the time.

Our first game is now available for free on Google Play: Frontier: Isle of the Seven Gods

idra's defense both games was just weird, and huk just got out-played game 2 and game 3 made a poor decision

I can make that work.
Edit: Wait I just watched the video, that's how that rule works, huh?
@narwhal you trickster.
If so, that is how the great Uniden made his debut, and is fucking hilarious.
So, attack in alphabetical order?
Or use units that start with your name?
If the latter, I'll go terran and ez win with an MMM ball.
