Okay, so maybe weeaboo is inaccurate, but as far as gaming blogs go they trend toward the dumbest shit you could write about. All of the editors. The entire staff sucks.
In fact, I used to write for eToychest and we lost one of our writers to Kotaku and even he started writing crapola. I thought he was a decent writer when he was with us.

Nerf Herder knew this 15 years ago.
It means locking the slide or bolt back. So you can load it and release the slide or bolt to chamber a round.
I'm guessing, but it probably has to do with how the action 'locks' open so that when you insert a new magazine, you just release the action and it's ready to roll.
This is for semi-auto and automatic weapons only.

This is correct. Alternatively you could interpret it as locking a magazine into the magazine well, and then pulling the bolt back to load the first round.
e: the result is the same. I would usually do the latter since it involves one less step.
