Xbox wifi help

Recently I've been having issues with my 360s wireless signal. It's a 360 slim. I sign on to the network and connect to Xbox live when I start it up, but when I start a game within 2 minutes I sign out of xbox live. At this point I will try to sign in and it will do one of two things. It will either sign me back in no problem or it will tell me it cannot connect to my network but I can wait a few moments and it will connect again to the network no problem. Once I'm signed in, I get logged out after 30 seconds to 2 minutes again.

What's weird is if I'm in the dashboard or downloading something I have no issues with it disconnecting. My other devices on the network like an iPad or laptop seem to have no problem. I've tried adjusting the routers channel, assigning an ip address to the Xbox, changed the security type from wpa2 to wpa, changed the proximity of the Xbox to the router, and also tried buying a brand new router and trying all of these same things with the same results. The old router is a Belkin, the new one which I returned was a linksys.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, I'm having a similar issue. I get logged out after 3 minutes, unless I'm specifically playing an online match. In that case, it might never log me out, but I get disconnected from my party often. Nothing is wrong with the laptop connections to the internet.

After some troubleshooting with XBox Live support, I figure it's my router. I use a wire connection, and when I connect directly to my modem, there is no problem. Doing a factory reset on the router solved the problem for a day, but that was it.

Anyway, have you tried a wire connection to the router? Or a wire connection to the modem?

I actually had to do a 'restore to defaults' on my xbox's connection. It simply WOULDN'T connect to live for some reason. This restore to defaults (then re adding the wi-fi connection) solved my problem.
