So long story short, I have one profile with various save data on one xbox hard drive, which my former roommate took with him when he moved to a neighboring state. I also have my own xbox hard drive with various other save information on it. I would like to recover the savegame data from the first hard drive.
Roommate is willing to format a thumb drive and mail it to me, so that's not a problem. What I'm wondering is if there is a way I can merge these profiles on my current HD so that all the savegame data is in one place. I'm not concerned about achievements or gamerscore or any of the other assorted metadata, I just want the save files. Neither profile is attached to a Live account.
Googling and searching the xbox help site return a bunch of results about resolving issues with Live accounts, but none of it really seems relevant to my situation.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Well, both profiles are attached to Live accounts, because that's what they are. I assume that you mean that they aren't Live Gold accounts. If you actually have different profiles set up, and didn't recover the first profile onto the second Xbox (which is ideally what you would have done), there isn't any way to merge them or to move save data from one to the other (legitimately).
offline profiles aren't yet attached to live accounts. I still doubt really doubt that you can merge them though.
if they are both offline profiles AND they have the same name, I'd say just copy the saves over to your hard drive and see what happens. otherwise, I don't see how they could be merged.
