Many of our prayers have been answered! It's very early in development and so there aren't any details, but I know many of you have your fingers crossed just like I do that this turns out fantabulous.

So, given your druthers, what would you guys like to see in game when it's released?

    Are the Warhammer and Warhammer 40k franchises completely separate? It seems weird to have this and the other Warhhamer MMO coming out in around the same time periods.

    My greatest gaming fear is to one day see something along the lines of "Abbadon group LF Farseer or Librarian."

    They share the same gods and some of the same races but are overall really different from eachover.

    Not really true on the surface.

    Both have orks, men, elves (eldar effectively) and chaos which are all quite similar.

    A 40k game would have to be shooty though, you really shouldnt do much melee, and having playable races sufficiently different to Age of Reckoning would be hard, i mean imagine playable tyranids.

    Meaning you would have to go all space marines and have different classes.

    Actually, the more I think about it the worse this idea sounds. MMO doesnt just equal cash cow.

    A battlefield 2142 style 40k game however would kick all sorts of ass.

    Yeah. Vigil Games' website is pretty much entirely composed of a link to THQ and a "we'll be making a game at some point!" press release though. Kind of iffy for a brand new studio to develop a THQ-published MMO.

    We'll see, I guess.

    Questions! What's the best way to learn about the 40k mythos? Just float around Wikipedia, or is there a better source? Also, are any of the novelisations any good?

    I'm just going to assume this will require comp specs higher than what i have and suck so i can go ahead and play WAR.

    WHole reason I'm interested in WAR was from playing DoW and asshole Blizzard for putting a demo of WoW in with Starcraft and giving me a taste for MMO.

    If this has stuff like Space Marines and Necrons etc. as a playable race... I am already disappointed.

    But if they make it more like Inquisitor or Necromunda with witch cults, Arbites, rogue traders, etc then I am officially quitting life and devoting myself to this game until I die.

    I can't imagine this being very good unless it was like, say, Planetside.

    I'm guessing it's going to be like "Inquisitor the MMO". If that ends up being the case, and there's shit like Space Marines, then I'll definitely be passing..
