England was actually pretty calm last session. My Duke just puttered around and focused on building some improvements. I had kind of let that slide during the wars. The King was kind enough to press some of my claims for me, so we beat up on Wales and absorbed them into Lancaster.
I also snatched a province from Scotland when EB was completing the reconquista of Ireland.
Other than that things were uneventful on my end, in case anyone was burning to know. Here's the current political map of the British Isles.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Should be interesting.
Tomorrow I should be usurping the Isles, and I'm trying to figure out how to get Orkney, which is in my bloodline (and are the heirs to Norway's elective monarchy). I may hire out some assassins to... trim that branch of the family, but SPECTRE finally fabricated a claim, so might be busy.

Normally there's a select mod thing on the launch screen, I haven't checked if it's there on this one.

Hey guys sorry, my router just up and died for a half hour or so. It seems I am destined to always be at war with Scotland when these sessions end.

Excerpted from the notes of Juan Sanchez Maria y Gomez, Secretary in the Aragonian Intelligence Office
Pablo: Well, we took the duchy of Cordoba and Malaga will fall soon. The Reconquista will be finished within ten years, I'd say.
Alfredo: I feel like we shouldn't have been so cautious. We've lost three provinces to France and Barcelona, not to mention passing up the opportunity to take Barcelona itself.
Manuel: The King is dead, long live the King!
Pablo: I know it would rile up the nobility even more, but I can't help but hope that this one doesn't last too long. A craven, gluttonous indulgent wastrel should not be on the throne of the second Christian power in Spain.
Raoul: That comes dangerously close to treason, my friend.
Manuel: Besides, if the King's uncle and brother are unhappy about swearing fealty to him, they'll be fuming about the prospect of serving a ten-year-old boy.
Pablo: He really needs to sit them down and tell them "Look, I know you don't like the situation, and you'd both like to be King of Aragon, but it's not going to happen. If you're loyal, I'll give you land. If you try to take the crown, Castille and I will crush you."
Raoul: Hija de puta caballo pena en su boca vergonzoso traiciono! What the hell is Prince Sancho thinking?!
Alberto: He's thinking "Gee, I'd quite like to be King." Of course, he's forgotten that while Galicia is a wild card, Castille will always help the King, and Sevilla is hardly going to ignore a new, weak Christian power.
Raoul: The King should put him to death for this insolence. He can obviously never trust his brother again after this.
Alfredo: So, Galicia won't help us, but they will help Granada. We're going to have to do something about this.
Raoul: Like what? "Being a pain in the ass and fighting against us" is not an accepted reason for war.
Pablo: Sevilla has declared war, of course, and his armies outnumber both ours and Castille's. Fortunately, we won't be fighting them, but if they take Granada or Malaga from the traitor it's going to be massively irritating to get them back.
Alfredo: Don't worry too much. Once the four rebellious provinces are sieged, the King can make any deal he likes with Duke Sancho, and as long as he sneaks his messenger in right before the last one falls, the Mohammedans will be forced to leave without gaining a single province.
Manuel: Don't tell anyone, but apparently Count Hug of Empuries sent a secret messenger to the King asking for his aid in acquiring the Duchy of Barcelona, and he didn't look unhappy as he left.
Pablo: So what? Whether it's ruled by Hug or Duke Pere, Barcelona is still independent.
Manuel: It'd be worth it to back him just to stick it to that jerk and his father who refused to join their rightful kingdom, but no. If we help him and he succeeds, Barcelona will become our vassal.
Alberto: About damn time. And when the beloved Queen passes on, we'll have a connection to Toulouse as well.
Garcia: It looks like the King's help was decisive. Count Hug has declared war, and brought us in with him
Pablo: Barcelona's army is much larger than Empuries. This war is going to be very slow if we don't take that force out quickly.
Alfredo: It's going to be slow regardless. Sieging four provinces with our manpower is not an attractive proposition. At least we have the troops to defeat Barcelona, if we scour the land.
Alberto: The vassals aren't going to be happy about that.
Alfredo: When are they ever?
Raoul: The King is dead, long live the King!
Pablo: Madre de Dios, that was fast. Did his lifestyle catch up with him, or did someone give him a little help?
Alfredo: Beats me. I'm almost glad we never finished the siege on Barcelona; the troops would have packed up and we'd have lost it again anyway.
Manuel: A boy king. I'm glad we've got Castille on our side.
I played ahead about twenty years, first to get Barcelona and then to inherit Toulouse. Grandma Ermengarda was still kicking it at eighty-friggin-two when the game crashed, so I gave up. Also, my vassals are all scheming against me.

We were getting something like 20 years a session I think. Last night was an aberration since we only got a bit less than a decade due to all the connection issues.
So, I bought this game and the tutorial is awful. However, I did have fun attempting to manipulate my liege, but when he found out, he jailed me and killed my heirs... whoops!
Seemed to last a month from when I lost my connection (February 11). That could be exciting.

You did indeed mention it. Either is fine with me.

Gonna be a little late tonight. My commute (usually 35-40 minutes) is at 78 minutes and counting. I'm foruming while driving and it's not even dangerous because nobody's moving. Whee!
So, I'll let the key players do any actual narrative telling, but most of tonight's play session was dominated by chaos in Iberia. In sort of separate news, Phyphor assassinated about 15 wives to improve his intrigue score, assassinated the last of the Capets to put an 8 year old Welshman on the French throne, and then declared his independence successfully.
Ireland continues to slowly take Scotland. Hopefully adding two more provinces when my current war ends.

Could one of you experienced players give me a hand installing WizMod? It's in the folder, it's selectable on launch, but it doesn't actually do anything in play.
A reminder: no session tomorrow, but we are playing Wednesday instead.

And the goal for the week is to at least get through the first century of play.

I assume you have run multiple tests on this experiment?

Are you planning on attacking the HRE with Flanders or are you in line for the French throne soon?
As long as you aren't messing with the Savoy region, me and shalmelo probably won't have issues with you. If you can even kill the Emperor's sons while you're at your mischief I'll be even more
No, actually I re-swear fealty to France, I don't keep my independence anyway once I die anyway. I only ever rebelled in the first place to help out Aquitaine. I may need to murderize the Kaiser to get rid of his claim on Luxembourg. I'm not interested in the Kingdom of Burgundy / Bohemia area, I'm going north along the coast

You didn't miss much. Ireland turned Cathar, joined up with Iceland and is currently winning the pan-North Atlantic war against the Byzantine Empire.
