yeah, i say "apparently" because this comes secondhand from someone whose source was a finnish print magazine. i'm not about to say this is true with any degree of actual certainty, but a rumored demise is as good an excuse as any to post a shitload of wolf parade

huh, i think this is the first time i've seen DFD's non-battle rap. can't say it's my favorite but it ain't bad.
the Illy track is dece stuff too, if a little vanilla. reminds me a bit of grieves but i guess that's just because i don't listen to much of that particular "style" of hip-hop
its nice to see that the australians have some better hip-hop offerings than this, anyway

First song I heard of his that wasn't battle, instantly hooked
it's very kanyesque, which isn't really a bad thing but it comes off a bit contrived and deliberate here. it's an ejoyable slick head-nodder but it's not really playing to gambino or heems' strengths
i feel like glover's lyricism has always relied too much on shotgunning forced punchlines and letting them hit or miss whenever, and even though i appreciate that he's toning it down here i think its absence is highlighting how much of a crutch it's been. hopefully it'll turn out to be a good idea in the long run, though. his delivery's as strong as ever and don't get me wrong, i'm a fan of his stuff
i dunno i feel like Camp had a really nice balance of punchlines and really personal stuff. I can appreciate he wants to get away from the punchlines though, and think it probably will be a good move in the long run
as for that track in particular, it's obviously neither of their best worst but dang it is a fun catchy track with a good beat to it

This doesn't say "I don't like Lupe's rapping". This says "I don't like politics over beats".
Hence my reply.
