My best friend just lost a close family member. I'm sending a card with my condolences to her family.
I've met them all, but I don't know how to start the inside of the card, where I've written a few sentences.
Should it be "Dear [last name here] family"? Or would I list out their names? A total of eight people live in their house, and I know all their names except for the Grandma (yes, I've met all of them).
What's the etiquette for this?
I hate you and you hate me.

I think "Dear Smith Family" is fine.
It really should go to the surviving spouse; "Mrs. Tom Smith", or eldest relative, "Mr. Davey Jones and Family," Honestly they probably won't notice/care, just be nice to send anything.
